Digital camera reviews of Logitech K350 2.4Ghz Wireless KeyboardDigital camera Review: 5 stars for PC users, ZERO stars for Mac users - Logitech has abandonded an entire operating system! Summary: 1 Stars
The Logitech K350 keyboard is the update to the Wave keyboard with the addition of Logitech's Unifying wireless technology. I already owned the Logitech MX mouse with the Unifying technology and an older wireless Wave keyboard and was excited to update the keyboard to the Unifying technology as well. Boy, was I surprised to discover that Logitech no longer seems to support Apple Mac computers with their latest hardware. The Unifying software sees and connects the keyboard to Macs, but the Logitech Control Center does not see the keyboard, thus you cannot configure it's special keys; and, the keys for Control, Option, and Command are not properly "wired" and their is no way to fix it. None of the special keys work at all.
I updated all of Logitech's software and the keyboard still does not work on a Mac.
Very frustrating! In searching the internet, it appears that everyone is being told that Logitech does not plan to fix the issue. I also discovered that if the Logitech Control Center is unistalled, the keyboard will work normally (but not be configured, especially the special keys), but then my MX mouse won't work properly. Not a workable solution at all.
I contacted technical support at Logitech and received a response that basically implies that Mac OS is not a standard or mainstream operating system... Here is there response (and it seems to prove that Logitech is blowing off the mac user):
"Thank you for contacting Logitech's Customer Care.
My name is DK, and I will be happy to assist you with your concern.
From your email, I understand that you are disappointed with your new K350 Keyboard doesn't work on MAC OS. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Logitech generally tries to provide software support for popular applications by writing code that meets current software development standards. This way if other applications are written to the same standards, our products will work in them. Currently there is no support for the OS that you have mentioned, either because your OS is not a standard OS, or our software was developed without testing it in your OS. We are really sorry for this inconvenience."
So the keyboard goes back for a refund and I have to look for a new brand of keyboard (and future mice) as I will never buy another Logitech device.
Beyond the serious Mac issues, if you are a Windows user then you are in luck as this is a very nice keyboard with great ergonomics and a wonderful key feel while typing. I am very disappointed that I cannot continue to use it.
Summary of Logitech K350 2.4Ghz Wireless KeyboardWith its distinctive Wave design and Constant Curve layout, Logitech Wireless Keyboard K350 guides your hands into just the right position. You'll type with ease and confidence, but without having to re-learn typing on an unfamiliar layout.
