Awesome mouse, the mx518. I;ve been using this for over 2 years. was about 50 back then.
It looks cool, sorta (I think it has a weird Guber smiley, seriously...) Good design for Right-handed users.
EIGHT buttons programable to your desires.. I have that little center button (Mouse6 if you already own one) programs to MINIMIZE whatever active window I am on.. heheheheHAHAHA. ahem. VERY useful.
Movement is ALmost very mirror-like, hence the High DPI.
It has 5 mouse feet, today my mouse still has em... hm gota glide this mouse more on my Icemat. =T icemat . icemat . icemat . soo~ smoooth~
Result: 5 stars. Long lasting. Multifunctional befitting all your desired functions..
someday i'll get the G7 wen its price downs a bit.
BTW, THEE G7 may be an alternative to this mouse in that the G7 is CordLESS. sweet.

I bought this mouse 8 years ago; the first gaming mouse I've ever owned. The mouse has held up perfectly, and performs just as well now as it did the day I bought it. I came online a couple weeks ago and saw that the mouse I bought 8 years ago was still for sale, unchanged, and about 2/3 the price so I did the only logical thing I could think of: bought another. I love this mouse so much ^_^. Shooting accuracy drastically improved when i got used to using the mouse. It fits comfortably in your hand and is just the right weight. Quick dpi switching helps in some situations. The two side buttons and program switch button below the -dpi switch make internet navigation very quick. The wheel is very smooth and comfortable, and the center button is easy to press and responsive. I have yet to try programming the side buttons for use in games but it seems it would work well. The software is easy to use and offers an array of dpi and button settings. The software *must* always run on your tray for the mouse to work properly - a minor annoyance to me, but takes up a tiny bit of memory. I upgraded this from an old $20 Logitech that lasted 2+ years and now resides in my cube. I wanted a new mouse for gaming and graphic design and bought and returned 3 mice before I settled on this one. Other mice I tried but didn't like were:
- The Razer Lachesis (too complicated)
- and the G5 (hated the side buttons, weird shape)
This mouse fits my XL hand perfectly and the side buttons are awesome. The material is a super smooth plastic so all the grime and hand oil wipes right off of it. I can already tell this mouse will last me a very long time.
The motion is perfect and the scroll wheel is great.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I would love to have a button on the right side of the mouse like my old logitech. Most mouses don't have this which is why it was so hard to upgrade from my old one after I was used to it.
All in all for the money, I would say this is the best buy I could find in 1 years time.
From my experience Logitech just dominates any other computer accessory company I have seen or tried.
