Digital camera reviews of Logitech MX 518 High Performance Optical Gaming Mouse (Metal)

Digital camera Review: Almost the Perfect Mouse, if you're not wrroied about looks.
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this mouse around 6 months ago and it's holding up pretty well. However, the black on the sides started rubbing off. I think it's because of my thumb being there but it's also happening on the opposite side. The black logitech logo located on the middle of the mouse is also wearing out. All in all, easy to use, performs great, but it ain't a looker

Digital camera Review: Amazing Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been using the MX518 for about 2-years now, and prior to that I had used a lot of standard mice such as the Microsoft Intellimouse. The MX518 is hands down the best mouse I have ever used. Not only does it fit the contour of the hand but its reliability and style really compliment the mouse. Highly recommended.

Digital camera Review: Amazing Product
Summary: 5 Stars

Ease of use (5/5): Simple plug and play. It came with a driver that I don't use. All the buttons are programmable with most of the new games out there. I didn't have to do anything! I was able to assign buttons in World of Warcraft and the Call of Duty series easily without having to place in the driver CD.

Construction Quality (5/5): Very solid. Doesn't attempt to be super-aesthetically pleasing or innovative. The little groove for your thumb feels great! The mouse is solid, and yet light enough so that it doesn't cause wrist pain after hours of use.

Value for money (5/5): This kind of gaming mouse for $35? There's no question that it's worth the money. The other fancier mice out there cannot compare.

Reliability (4/5): The only reason that I give this a 4/5 is because I recently had to replace my old one. I simply ordered another one. The red light that interfaces with the optical device was not working, and upon opening up the mouse I saw that a part of the circuit had short circuited. There was some white caked powder on the chipboard. I couldn't determine what it was, so it could have been that something on the circuit fried or that I had spilled something and shorted the circuit.

Gaming (5/5): Absolutely The precision is unbelievable. I have a few mice: your typical dell $20 mouse, a wireless mouse, and my girlfriend's 'gaming' mouse. The wireless mouse, being wireless, is terrible for gaming. The dell mouse, while it is great for word processing, is terrible for gaming. The cursor would move every so slightly every time I click down to shoot. The acceleration when I try and move across the screen just seems...off. It's always either too fast or too slow. My girlfriend's 'gaming' mouse feels like someone simply put the Dell mouse into a cool-looking case. This Logitech mouse, however, has amazing accuracy. Everything about it is exact. It goes where I want it to go, and it shoots where I want to aim it, becoming an extension of my arm. After my mouse broke I simply couldn't use another mouse, even for word processing until my replacement came in overnight mail!

In short: I highly recommend this mouse for anyone, from the office worker to the casual gamer, to the super nerd! You will not be disappointed. I hope they keep making this mouse, because I'm pretty sure I'll keep breaking mine. Guess I'll just have to keep ordering more :)

Digital camera Review: Amazing!! Better than its predecessors!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been rocking a MX510 for years now. But it finally kicked the bucket and I went searching for a new gaming mouse. I saw this mouse for a good price (amazon had a nice mail rebate bringing it down to $24) and decided to trust that they hadn't tried to fix what wasn't broken. I am very impressed with the few things they did change. There are now 2 buttons that allow you to quickly change your dpi settings (which can all be custom set to the dpi of your choice). This is incredibly helpful for first person shooters where you want a lower dpi when sniping but a higher dpi for run and gunning. It is just as big as the old ones which fit my hands perfectly. It glides effortlessly over most surfaces and weighs enough to not feel like a hollow plastic piece of junk. This is an excellent mouse for the price range. Now if only they would look into incorporating the new blue laser in this series!

Digital camera Review: Amazing..

Wow.. What a great gaming mouse. Excellent feel and the button locations are right on. Very responsive and weighty feeling. Worth the money that I paid for it. You get what you pay for folks. I would recommend this if you are a gamer of simply just looking for a high quality mouse that will last and feels comfortable.
