Digital camera reviews of Logitech Optical Marble Mouse (USB/PS2)

Digital camera Review: EXCELLENT
Summary: 5 Stars

Easy on the wrist and hands. Very good for limited desk space since you move the ball and not the entire unit like a standard mouse. Easy to get the hang of in moments and very durable.... I have had mine for over 5 years now and it works as good as the day I bought it. I would highly reccomend over a convential mouse.

Digital camera Review: Easiest for retraining you non-dominant hand
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to be a CAD draftsman-- a mouse-intensive activity, often with tense deadlines. I would get hand spasms from using my dominant (right) hand so much for hours on end. Other people I know have trained their non-dominant hand to use a regular mouse, to give their dominant hand a break. I'm too uncoordinated for that. But I found it relatively easy to train my dumber hand to use the Logitech Marble Mouse. Unlike a conventional mouse, positioning the pointer and clicking buttons is done entirely with separate fingers, so finger control doesn't need to be quite as good. Sure, it's A LITTLE slower than the mouse with my smarter hand-- and I don't have more than two buttons, nor a scroll-wheel. (Actually, a third button can be simulated by playing a "chord" with the two buttons simultaneously, but I haven't found that feature very useful.) If given a choice between greater speed for a year until I "mouse-out," and continuous productivity at a slightly slower pace (going on 10 years now), I choose the latter. I'd argue that point to any employer: groups like OSHA and the Calif. Worker's Comp. system would back me up. Preserving my hands for playing music is also really, really important to me.

Digital camera Review: Easy On the Hand
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used mine for over six months now. It's great for me since I travel a lot and don't have that much desk space. I usally play mine for games especially on the first person view type. It has handle well on my normal abuse. The only thing I dislike about it is that the ball falls of once in a while.

Digital camera Review: Easy on the hand, helps reduce strain
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this Marble Mouse along with the Trackman because I began experiencing numbness, dull pain and fatigue on my right hand due to constant typing and a not so ergonomic mouse. Since I'm not a doctor, I can't characterize my issue as carpal tunnel.

Anyway, this mouse definitely reduced the pain and after a few weeks of being mindful, the pain virtually went away. I thank this mouse in large part. It's comfortable, it fits on most average sized hands and it works really well. The ball does take time to get used to but it is very convenient once you do.

I've been using both for a few weeks now. I have the Trackman at work and the Marble at home. I must tell you, I prefer the Trackman just because my palm sits perfectly on the unit where as I have to lift my palm at times with the Marble which introduces some strain.

Digital camera Review: Easy to install and use
Summary: 5 Stars

This mouse is very easy to install and the ease of use is excellent. My four year old son adapted to it that same day from a standard mouse. The roller ball is a superb tool.
