Digital camera Review: Beware of version- does not work completely with iPod Touch

I have an iPod touch and it plays fine though this unit EXCEPT that the remote does not function properly: up and down scrolling always jumps two items. I returned it and bought the current model, the Pure-Fi Anywhere ll which does work perfectly and comes with the appropriate sized insert for the iPod touch (and iPhone)- at least the first generation ones. This unit, the Pure-Fi Anywhere, did not. Both units were sonically acceptable for their size and purpose.Digital camera Review: Buy this product

I bought this a few months ago and am extremely pleased. Most importantly: The sound quality is excellent - you can hear the nuances of the songs, things I never heard before with my big dual speaker stereo and it gets loud enough for a crowded get together (probably not quite loud enough for a big party, and certainly won't thump).
Pros - As mentioned, excellent sound quality, "3d" button can add another dimension of listening.
Portability - For me, this was huge. My roommate and I take this all over our apartment - to the garage to work out, to the kitchen to cook, to the living room to play video games - the battery has never run out on me.
It charges my IPOD and travels easily.
Cons:
It doesn't charge IPOD when not plugged in.
Sometimes the 3d buttom makes songs sound very strange, and needs to be turned off - can be a bit a pain to keep popping over to unit.
THE REMOTE IS A JOKE - Other people may have better experiences, my remote range is about 5 feet. I never use it because its simply easier to walk over to the unit.
All in all, a great portable unit, I wish the remote was better.

I agree with the previous review about customer service, but you can't blame Amazon for that. They do not manufacture the product, they just sell it.
I bought the unit as a Christmas gift. When I initially charged the battery, it still wasn't charged after 8 hours. Assuming something was wrong, I also called customer service, as the manual does not say how long the initial charge takes. When I asked the service tech. about this, he didn't know either. He guessed about 12 hrs. He was reading the same manual I was. I even told him what page to look on so he could see for himself there is no information about charging the unit. What a joke. So much for technical support! USELESS! After 24hrs, the charge indicator finally showed a full charge. After using the unit for 1 hour, the battery died, and would not hold any charge after that. Knowing about the non-existent customer support, I called Amazon instead and explained the problem. They immediately sent me a new unit and a prepaid shipping label to return the defective unit, no questions asked. Superb customer service Amazon!
The new unit works fine. The sound is ok for something this small, which is what I expected for a portable speaker system at this price. If you're not pleased with the sound, you can change it on your Ipod in the equalizer settings. The remote is fine, but be sure to hold the buttons down for a couple seconds for it to function properly and you won't have any problems, as some previous reviewers mentioned. I purchased it mainly for the portability, which is great. Small size, sturdy carrying case, decent battery life and good sound.
My review would have been 5 stars, but I only gave it 4 stars because of the horrible customer support.
