Digital camera reviews of Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000Digital camera Review: Excellent choice for small businesses Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased three as a test. One went to Detroit, one to Orlando and one stayed in NY with me. My two remote sales people, neither of whom are techies, had the cameras set up with their laptops in 15-20 minutes. It took us 20-30 minutes to figure out the volume settings on one of the Dell laptops and then we tried our first internet video chat. It worked like a dream. The built in video phone call software is amazingly easy to use, and it seems impervious to firewall problems (must use port 80).
After a week I purchased 5 more and now we all have one. Four people have it attached to laptops and four have it attached to desktops. We all use XP, fully patched.
My people love it AND our phone bills are down around 10%. More importantly, my remote sales people feel like they are more a part of the company, and it looks like the people in my office have stepped up their response times to requests made by the sales people because they can actually look each other in the eye.
I logged on today to buy 3 more cmaeras - this time for buyers at key customers. Let's see how things work when they can video conference with me right from their desk when they need something. If I dodn't think that the installation process was idiot-proof, I would never try this with my customers - none of whom have CS degrees.
Digital camera Review: Excellent product for price Summary: 5 Stars
The Logitech Quickcam Pro is a huge step up from our previous webcam (an earlier Quickcam) With this product the image quality has risen greatly and you no longer have to be in a very bright room to get a good picture. In the advanced settings you can even select if you are in daylight or under fluorescent lights to improve the quality again. When taking still images you get 1.3 mega pixels and that was good for regular digital cameras up until a couple of years ago. If you are looking for a webcam in this price range then I'd definitely go with this one as to get any improvement in quality you'll really need to spend a lot of money.
Digital camera Review: Excellent video but lots of echo from audio Summary: 4 Stars
The camera installs very easily on XP with SP2 and latest patches -- very straight forward. Video is excellent and automatically adjusts well to lighting conditions. However, the mic is so sensitive that it picks up alot of echo if you are not using a headset. The sound from the person you are video conferencing with comes out your speakers gets fed back into mic causing an echo). If they could provide audio echo cancellation in the QuickCam, I'd give it 5 stars and use MSN video conferencing much more. For those having trouble installing this camera, the problem is on your end. Update your software!!
Digital camera Review: FANTASTIC CAMERA!!! VERY PLEASED Summary: 5 Stars
I used to own a VEO Velocity camera, and my girlfriend purchased one of these so that we can chat when i move overseas. When we hooked it up I was absolutely amazed by the clarity of the camera. We went online and did some Video IMing and I could not believe how sharp the picture was. This camera is awesome. The software includes a motion tracker which is pretty cool. If you want it to, it turns on whenever it detects motion, so you can catch someone doing something they shouldnt be doing. It works flawlessly and was a breeze to configure and install. After seeing it online, i went out and bought two, one for me and one for my mom. Its a great camera.
