Digital camera reviews of Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac (Black)

Digital camera Review: Caution: Requires Operating System OS 10.4.11 or higher
Summary: 1 Stars

I believe this webcam may work well as described, however, after receiving it and spending quite a bit of time trying to figure out why my Mac did not recognize this camera I decided to contact Logitech support before returning this camera. I am still using OS 10.3.9 and very happy. But per Logitech; the webcam that you are using is only supported in Mac OS 10.4.11 or higher. The camera is not properly detected because it does not meet the requirement is order to function. This is not mentioned on any of their literature, website or in the wecam instructions. I hope this assists in keeping down the returns.

Digital camera Review: Clear and Nice
Summary: 5 Stars

We like this camera. It works well with our Mac and we are very happy with it. We've tried others, but the focus or sound weren't good. This one is great.

Digital camera Review: DOESN'T WORK WITH NEW MACS
Summary: 2 Stars

Don't buy this if you have a new Mac Mini (3/09 or higher) which is what I have. It looks great, and you would think that not needing drivers would be a good thing, but after staying on the phone with Apple for 2 hours they came to the conclusion that there's an incompatibility with the internal hardware on the newer Macs. The problem being when the Mac wakes up from "sleep" it doesn't recognize that the camera is connected, so you HAVE to pull it out of the port and reinsert e-v-e-r-y s-i-n-g-l-e t-i-m-e! Brutal. The ironic thing is he said if there were drivers that might fix the problem. Yay! So in trying to make my life easier I've made it harder and a little more in debt....

Digital camera Review: Doesn't work on my G5.
Summary: 1 Stars

Must be an incompatibility somewhere (?) but I get a lag between the video and the sound. It gets worse by increments until at about a 60-seconds lag, the thing's completely unusable. I can leave the office, cross the road and I'm still "live" in the iChat window on my other computer when I get home. Surreal.
Might be because of my non-Intel 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5, but the specs are well above the minimum requirements on the box. No thanks to Logitech.
I don't have the problem with an old Apple i-sight camera on the same machine, so it's not the line or my hardware.
Logitech's technical support is rubbish, so the camera's going back.

Digital camera Review: Doesn't work with iMovie
Summary: 2 Stars

I specifically needed a camera to work with iMovie. When I purchased this there was no mention of this incompatibility in the description or reviews.
