So I bought this particular webcam thinking, wow great! a PC/Mac compatible webcam for $36!!! Unfortunately, it's the older, non UVC compatible webcam which does not work for a Mac. (check out [..] for a list of UVC webcams) I guess the newer UVC Fusion has a ring of light around the Logitech logo and has a more silver color.
On the plus side though, it does work with Vista (64)after the new driver is installed from Logitech's website. The image is very nice and the fun filters are well, fun. For some reason, only the fun filters work though; not the avatars, masks, or face accessories. I suspect this has something to do with the webcam being the older model or I just haven't set up the camera with the proper adjustments needed for the accessories. A help window pops up, but disappears too quickly to read, so oh well.
All in all, it is nice, but NOT MAC COMPATIBLE (macam is still working on a driver, but no luck yet), but is Vista compatible, and as this is the OLDER MODEL, it comes with a free behind-the-ears headset with boom mic! That's right, FREE (cheap) HEADSET!

Although this is the first webcam I have ever used, I am very pleased with the performance and the quality of the picture and sound. I have seen others and have not been impressed with how grainy the picture is and how the sound and the action are not in sync. But the people I send video emails to all compliment the quality of the sound and the picture. I have recommended this product to friends and family. One friend actually purchased one once he saw the quality of my video email. This was a good purchase.Digital camera Review: Works great, good price, no problems.

I have never used a webcam (8ig n00b!) before, so I have no basis for comparison - my 5 stars is based on a month of use. I read the directions, installed the software, plugged it in, booted up, and it has worked perfectly since.
I like the look of the thing - it's not blue as depicted in the photos; it's silver, and feels sturdy enough. The picture is clear. Sound (I'm told) is good and the mic is not so directional that someone walking room can't be heard if they speak up a bit, but seated in front of it I just use a regular speaking voice and everyone can hear me. There's no feedback at all, either - I expected some.
There are units out there for $125, but I can't imagine what for - this thing is perfect for us.
