Digital camera reviews of Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer

Digital camera Review: Alright but not great.
Summary: 4 Stars

I was hoping the quality to be better from the reviews. I owned a bunch of different little speakers in the past, but this is the first that I am getting distortion after some point. I like the volume control, although I wish the base was also on the same piece for ease of use. I like how small yet powerful enough the bass is. The music does sound like there is something in between in some occasions but if you mess with your computer properties enough you can get it to sound nicer.

Digital camera Review: Amazing Logitech Speakers
Summary: 5 Stars

The speakers and subwoofer sound excellent and deliver great base for the price. Perfect for an addition to stock laptop speakers. Upgraded from Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers.

Digital camera Review: Amazing Speakers
Summary: 5 Stars

These speakers are perfect for our laptop they have great sound and suprisingly great bass. I can't believe they were so cheap! I would reccomend them to anyone!

Digital camera Review: Amazing Value
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a speaker system to allow me to listen to music, play games, blah blah blah, the point is I needed something loud. I got it.

I've tried many speaker systems for desktops, and nothing beats the logitech s220 for value.
Sure these aren't the BEST speakers, you would need to get BOSE for that, but these are perfect for anything else.

PROS

Small speakers that output strong, quality sound
goes loud, bass is responsive.
adjustable bass
not too tinny.

CONS

Won't give you that thump thump through 7 walls
speakers are easy to knock over.
bass control on subwoofer is annoying if you hide your sub.

Digital camera Review: Amazing Value for the Price
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this product originally about 10 months ago when I was first assembling my custom desktop together. I was after a sound system with clarity and a great bass for my music and game play. But like many college students, I also needed something cheap and affordable--you know, so I could spend my dollars on the things that really mattered...like rent, In & Out burgers, and gas money. When I hopped onto Amazon, I determined that my budget for a sound system was no more than $50. For those of you who are really picky about the quality of your sound systems, I imagine that you understand the saying "you get what you pay for." So I want to say first of all that if you are looking for sound studio surround sound quality and clarity, you really shouldn't even be looking at a product under $100. (Heck, you probably shouldn't even be looking at products under $300.)

With that said, I have to say that this sound set has become one of my best investments made in 2010. For just under $30, I am always amazed by how loud I can pump my music and still have great clarity *AND* excellent bass. You can really start feeling the music if you pump up the bass, which has a separate control dial for it if you want to keep the subwoofer down. (Particularly helpful if you are living in apartments or if it is late at night and you don't want someone to file a noise complaint against you.)

My biggest issue with the sound system is that the wiring between the subwoofer and the two satellites are just long enough to go from the floor to my table, which is raised to about two and a half feet off the ground. Of course, I would love to have wireless satellites, but hey.. you get what you pay for.

Other than my desktop for movies, music, and PC games, I have also used this speaker system for my Xbox 360 without any problems. Although, it should be noted that since the XBOX360 uses RCA input for sound, you still need a RCA to stereo converter. (I believe it's a 35mm one.)

Bottom line: if you're looking for an excellent bang for your buck and you only have a $30-$50 budget to work with, this is really a great buy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone on a tight budget.
