The Logitech N700 Speaker Lapdesk is one of those "Why didn't I think of that" things! It is utterly perfect for those of us who like to watch movies and listen to music on our laptops. Let's face it, most laptops simply don't have very good audio, they tend to get rather hot, and laptops really are not meant to be used on one's lap, so this good little product solves three common issues at once. The lapdesk distributes the weight of a laptop evenly, so it remains comfortable... at least my own 6-7 pound laptop does. The speakers have a very nice sound. Not perfect, but way better than standard notebook/laptop speakers! The fan is very quiet but seems to do a very good job of cooling my little hottie of a system.
There are only a few things that I would change about the N700, perhaps in a new incarnation or a 2.0 version... For one, I would add a USB hub and the option of using AC power. I would also add some sort of a slide-out tray for those of us who like to use a mouse instead of the touchpad. I would also like to see audio controls, like bass and treble and midrange. Finally, I would offer this nice little lapdesk in colors, perhaps black or charcoal gray, and definitely red!
This would make a great Christmas or holiday present for nearly anyone with a laptop!
