Digital camera reviews of Logitech Stereo USB Headset 250Digital camera Review: Earpiece not so comfortable.. Summary: 3 Stars
I have had this headset for a while. The headset works great but the earpiece fits on your ears so tight and there is not much cushioning effect. So you tend to get uneasy if you are using this for about 30 mins or so. Thats the reason I took out 2 stars as I feel they should have a comofrtable feel when you put them on.
Digital camera Review: Easy, Durable, Sleek, Pristine Summary: 5 Stars
I bought several of these units and ended up giving several away as gifts. These units are extremely easy to use, being a USB solution. You can configure them any way you wish, being the default audio devices, only being used for Skype or other telephony/gaming programs, so many possibilities. These also make a great replacement for a damaged sound card. Naturally, it doesn't have nearly as many features as most sound cards, but I have a friend with a fried sound card on his laptop. These did the trick and they remain faithful. The microphone picks up more high frequencies than low end which is actually great for IP telephony as it captures more of the natural speech formant frequencies rather than impractical low end.
I'm the guy who breaks anything and everything he touches, a pile of junk in my room as testiment. Yet this headset has withstood the test of time and wear so far. Sometimes the earphones have come separated from the head band and I thought they were broken, but they easily snapped back into place. I also have a very big head. Extending the headband to its maximum range, it fits me comfortably, but I can see how problems might arise for, er, bigger bigheads than my own. Sound quality through the earphones is quite good, great for music listening, gaming, telecommunications, or most any application. Wearing them for long periods of time has proven much better comfort than other headphones I've used.
Digital camera Review: Easy, comfy, good sound Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this to use with Skype. Configured easily by Vista, XP, win2K, lin SuSE. Sound is clear. I compared it with the newer version 350 and did not see any difference in sound. 350 has a thicker over the head bow (may be stronger?). Yet, my 250 is used by no children and it cost me about 60% of what I paid for 350. Also, I found that the microphone is on the right on 250 and on the left in 350 - (if it comes in right and left versions - I do not know, mine happened to be this way). 250 has the USB plug narrow, easily usable in tight proximity with other USB plugs, 350 has it "fatter" than usual...
Considered the price, I chose this product over newer 350, for it works same to me. I did not rate durability anyhow, for I have the headset not for long enough to judge that. I am happy with the product.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Headset, But... Summary: 3 Stars
USB Headset technology is great. It allows audio signals to travel from your device to the headset digitally. The quality is much better than the analog signal provided by the standard mini-RCA jacks most headsets use (usually two, one for the speakers and one for the mic). Here are a few things I liked about this particular headset:
1. Excellent sound quality.
2. Ear pads are extremely comfortable and block out sound well enough that I can't hear someone talking five feet away, but I can hear my office phone ringing one foot away.
3. Noise cancelling mic sounds great.
4. Wire only comes out of one earpiece, which eliminates the annoyance of a wire coming out of each ear piece and meeting around your chest.
5. Headset interfaces seamlessly with my laptop.
6. Headset fits comfortably (and I've got a big head).
Unfortunately, one thing ruined all this for me. The wire going into the earpiece seems to have a bad connection. I've had this problem before with earphones, but normally at the end where it goes into the device. I have to jiggle it around to get a clear signal, and once I get the clear signal, I can't move very much or I lose it. Sometimes it's lots of static, other times I only get sound from one earpiece, and other times I get no sound at all. I would expect this if I had the headset for a year, but I've only had it TWO MONTHS! I looked around the Logitech website for a way to contact Customer Service electronically (I'm not a big fan of calling customer service), but could not find one. I've been a big fan of Logitech products, but this one shook me a little. If you do buy it, be extremely delicate.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Quality, Used to monitor audio mixed. Summary: 4 Stars
The sound is clear and good quality, better than other with more high price buy for us before.
We don't have to use the audio card from my laptop.
We use to mix music, the audio card in my laptop is my output and the headphone is my monitor booth working together and working without problems.
