Digital camera reviews of Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers (Black)

Digital camera Review: Better than I expected!
Summary: 5 Stars

My goal was to find a pair of USB speakers to replace the ones I have to plug in the wall. I only used the speakers when the volume was too low coming out of my monitor speakers when watching Hulu. These speakers have a good bass and I can make them very loud without having to plug them to the wall. XP recognized them right away when I plugged them in.

The only thing I noticed is that when I unplugged them while playing a video in VLC, the sound would disappear on VLC. It would not switch to the monitor speakers. I had to close VLC and reopen the movie to get the sound back. Doesn't bother me enough to give them a lower rating.

If you want loud USB speakers with great bass, these are excellent. They even come in a nice carry-on case. I'm very happy with them.

Digital camera Review: Big sound from a little package
Summary: 4 Stars

I wasnt expecting much from these speakers but I was pleasantly surprised. Most notebook speakers are weak, and the ones on my MacBook Pro are no exception. These Logitech speakers are small, very portable, and sound great.

Pros:
- Small, lightweight
- Includes holding case
- Sound great
- Works instantly when plugged in (I used them on my Mac and PC)
- No power cable!

Cons:
- Being lightweight, they may vibrate if you listen to bass heavy songs
- Would be nice if they had more grip on the legs

Digital camera Review: Big sound out of a little box!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I needed some small speakers for my laptop so I could get streaming audio in my project trailer. These little guys fit the bill perfectly. I am very impressed that so much sound can come out of such a small enclosure.

One reviewer noted that these speakers are "walkers" and that's true. The bass response is powerful enough to make them move around my desktop. But I wedged them and easily overcame the problem.

This product came in a very nice case and is very well made. Overall, I am very satisfied especially for their modest price.

Digital camera Review: Bought two, both broke
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought two of these. Before they both broke -- each within 6 months of the purchase date -- they suffered from similar problems. The speakers would disconnect from Windows (Vista & Win7), and you'd have to unplug the USB cable and plug it back in, sometimes several times, to get the audio back. The V20 connects to your computer via a single USB cable, or rather, the first speaker is connected using a USB cable, and the second speaker is connected to the first using a standard 3.5mm audio cable. This audio cable, which is built in and can't be replaced, is of extremely low quality. I had to wiggle the connection constantly to get sound out of the second speaker. These things are overpriced junk. If I bought one Logitech V20 and it broke, I could say maybe I got a bad copy, but two, both failing with the same problems, means poor design and poor manufacturing.

Digital camera Review: Bummer
Summary: 2 Stars

I did a lot of research out here prior to ordering these speakers and most everyone had a favorable review. I purchased them in May with no problems and they worked great with my Dell laptop. In late July they quit producing sound...it appears they are working on my control panel but no sound comes from the speakers anymore and the mute button is not on. Unfortunately I am past my month return date so I am stuck with $50 speakers that don't work anymore.
