I ordered this wireless mouse to replace the Targas model that I had. I had reservations about having a mouse that did not have rechargeable batteries, but it is worth it because the mouse works very well. The previous model I had did not retain a charge well and it was very inconsistent in how well it worked. This mouse has picked up every click. I'm not sure how long the 2AA batteries will last, but they did include Duracell with the unit. If the battery life is short, I will amend this review.Digital camera Review: Great catch

I had Kensington mouse before using this one...but it broke in 2 months...I bought it for $50 and thought it must be of good quality but the material was a cheap plastic...Then i bout this Logitech mouse and trust me it works so good...it is heavy because of 2 AA batteries so gives u a good feel and control..also it transmitter is 2.4 GHz which gives it a good range and also it works on all the surface..very high quality of the material and excellent design whcih works both for right handed and left handed person...Its a must buy mouse..not very costly and great value for money...Digital camera Review: Great little mouse!

I had a wireless MS mouse. It kept loosing the signal. This one has a much longer range. I can mouse from 3 ft away, where the MS mouse had problems at 1 ft. The battery life is also very impressive. Buy Again: You bet!Digital camera Review: Great little mouse! Great range, easy to get running.

I've been using this mouse for about an hour now and so far it works great. Although the packaging was a pain to open, this thing was really "plug and play." Easy to get the batteries in, easy to get up and running...just plug the USB receiver in and you're good. No on and off switch to worry about, just plug the receiver attachment into the mouse. That shuts the power off. Battery life is quoted at a year. (We'll see.)
Although the mouse comes with software, I didn't need to use it, which is important since my work laptop doesn't let me install software (no admin rights!).
I thought this device should use 2 AAA batteries instead of 2 AA batteries to cut down on the weight, but the extra weight gives the mouse some heft, which gives it controllability.
The wireless transmitter on this mouse has amazing range. I went 30 feet away and it still worked. I would have tested it further but the mouse cursor was too small to see and my house isn't that big! This would be easily usable for presentations, with the advantage of the presented not being tied down to the laptop and projector.
I didn't realize that this mouse also has some bonus features. The optical reader isn't that bright blinding red, but is invisible. Also, the scroll wheel can scroll left and right, as well as up and down. This hasn't worked for me yet, probably since I didn't install the software!
So far I'm quite happy with it. We'll see how easy it is to travel with it!

I own 2 of these mice, and after several years they still work great (I've had to replace batteries only once). The scroll wheel works not only up-and-down, but also side-to-side, which is a great feature. Great for traveling, or if you have small hands. I've only had 2 minor problems: 1)when I first plugged the receiver in the USB port at the back of my PC, the mouse would pause intermittently; as soon as it was plugged into the front, the problem disappeared; 2) one of the mice is matte silver and the finish is starting to wear off slightly, so if this bothers you buy the shiny black one.
