Digital camera reviews of Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks (Dark Silver)Digital camera Review: A Fine Mouse Summary: 5 Stars
The mouse works very well, feels quite comfortable to use. I've had it for two months now and the computer has no problem sensing the device. The mouse has an on/off switch for energy-thrifty users, but hardly uses battery at all; I haven't had to change the battery yet. Highly recommend.
Digital camera Review: A Good Entry Level Wireless Mouse For A Good Price Summary: 4 Stars
This is my first wireless mouse, so after approximately a month of use, I'm still getting used to a few features, one of which is turning the battery switch off if I'm not using the mouse for an extended period of time. Initial hookup was just like I want all my tech devices. Turn it on, plug it in, use it, and forget all the details. It's a simple device that uses AA batteries (fortunately the manufacturer was smart enough to include a Duracell and not a cheap battery) which easily slides into the bottom compartment. The USB connector does stick out about 1 1/2", so if that could be an issue for your computer, take that into account. I chose the black/silver since it wouldn't show fingerprints or dirt buildup that can occur on a mouse over time. Occasionally I'll use a soft cloth with a cleaner on my other keyboards and mice to keep them sanitary. For this mouse with the rubber sides, you probably won't want to use any cleaner on that portion of the mice since it could result in staining. Speaking of the rubber sides, they feel great and add an extra sense of a "secure grip" when moving the mouse. Another pleasant surprise is the mouse moves the cursor across my screen very quickly with very little hand motion. That feature alone is worth the price. I much prefer this mouse over the touchpad on my Toshiba Satellite A665...so if you're frustrated with your laptop's touchpad, you'll love this mouse. I've not hauled this mouse around much, so I can't speak for its durability in being carried around in a backpack or messenger bag, but if you're careful, this should give you several years of good use. The price on Amazon is excellent for this item as well. I could have bought the same item for several dollars more at a local "big box" office supply, but it's worth waiting a few days, paying $10.00 less, and getting free shipping on top of that. Whether you're using a laptop or desktop, for the price, this is a very good buy that I can highly recommend.
Review Update: April 11, 2011. I'm pleased to report that the Duracell AA battery for my mouse has lasted several months and only now needs replacement. There's a small light on the top of the mouse that will be green when the mouse has plenty of battery power and is operating correctly. When it glows red, it's time to change the battery. I double checked the battery with a battery tester (just to make sure that the battery was indeed low & I wouldn't be wasting my money on new batteries) and it's indeed very low. I'm waiting a few days to see how long the low battery will last before replacement. Inexpensive batteries will probably not last as long, especially since I use my mouse up to 14 hours a day several days a week...so sticking with a Duracell would be wise. Otherwise, still very pleased with the mouse & highly recommend it for any laptop, netbook, or desktop.
Digital camera Review: A Good Value Summary: 4 Stars
The Logicitech is the perfect little portable mouse. Unlike some other laptop models, this one is nearly the size of a desktop mouse - the smaller ones are harder to handle on oddball surfaces. The USB receiver is smaller than a thumb drive, and doesn't have any pesky wire running from plug to receiving device. Additionally, the receiver attaches to the bottom of the mouse when not in use, for easy transport and to prevent getting lost. The mouse itself works smoothly. I use it on desks, chair arms, coffee table tops, with good success. And all at a nice price. I've always liked Logitech's peripherals; this one lives up to their usual standard.
Digital camera Review: A Review For Computer Challanged Seniors Summary: 5 Stars
As an unsavy low tech senior, this wireless mouse is an essential laptop accessory that works as promised at an affordable price. After reading the simple instructions, I was using it within 15 minutes, dispite having to guess at one option during the software downloading process, which was not included in the written instructions. A manufacture contact number was available as my backup had I guessed wrong.
While I highly recommend this mouse now, if after 6 months of usage it performs as good as it does now, it may well be one of the greatest gagets I ever bought.
Digital camera Review: A mouse for a real 5 Stars
This device is in a class by itself.
It has a great design, wheel that
can roll backwwards & forwards, even
slide across test and is very well
made. The battery is cleverly hidden
under THE HOOD which opens from a
little latch underneath. It has an
auto shut off featuer which is also
turned off by inserting the USB
receiver key underneath for storage.
It uses an invisible laser which is
quite powerful and has an excellent
communicative ability no matter
where the mouse is as long as you
are in the same room. No one will
ever think of this but if you are
giving a presentation you can use
this mouse to operate a hidden
laptop out of sight yet sit right
in the same room with the viewers
that are watching your presentation.
Most people would need another
monitor and a second person to do
this operation. That is why I say
when asked I would take a mouse
instead of a man, lol.
This mouse is an EXCELLENT item
for anyone who wants to still be
connected without a wire.
It even came with a high quality
Duracell battery that was alkaline
quality. That means business for me.
A great choice for a mouse.
