I bought this mouse for my wife to use with her new laptop. Like most Logitech products, it works as advertised, works very well, and was very reasonably priced. It has a nice feel to it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the USB receiver seems a little long. I've seen shorter ones that are less likely to be in the way, less likely to get bumped, etc. Still, for the price and the quality, that's a very minor issue. I selected this mouse as a solution to the placement of the USB ports on a recently acquired ASUS laptop.
The port where right-handed users are most likely to plug in a mouse is at the front of the keyboard tray on this computer. Result: you are likely to find the mouse wire in the same area where you might want to use the mouse.
With no Bluetooth capability, a wireless mouse became the solution (plug the wireless transmit/receive unit into a USB port on the left side of the computer...and the mouse wire is no longer an issue).
This mouse was recognized immediately by Windows 7. It accepted basic adjustments through the Windows control panel. The full "Setpoint" mouse utility software was easy to find on Logitech's site, and I recommend downloading it to gain more functionality of the VT 220 (and especially for its center control wheel).
Even for users with large hands, this mouse should be easy to operate, primarily due to the rubber grips on the sides.
The bottom of the mouse is slotted to accommodate the USB transmit/receive unit for storage and travel. The storage slot is cleverly grooved to automatically turn the mouse's underside power switch on or off as you remove or replace the transceiver.
I've been using Logitech wireless keyboards and mice without a problem for over ten years; this model maintains that pattern of ease of use.

This might be the best product I have ever bought on Amazon.com. The battery life is excellent. The design is cooler (its kinda has a slanted forward type thing going on that makes be feel more engaged in what I am working on at work), and the most important facet I believe, it's comfortable. I have had this mouse for over a year and a half now and it is awesome. It is small, so I can rest my wrist on the mousepad and move the mouse at the same time. It feels very good, and it is durable. I have dropped it many times and it still works fine. One thing I really liked about this mouse was how long the battery lasts. Like 2 weeks before it runs out, a red LED starts fading in and out, and then it dies. I have only changed the battery twice. This mouse can track over almost any surface, no need for a mousepad.
