Digital camera reviews of Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks (Dark Silver)

Digital camera Review: Best value.
Summary: 5 Stars

This mouse does all I expected at a price that is satisfactory. In fact I don't use all the bells and whistles available on it. Great product. Reliable, easy to use and install. I have two of these one of which is a year old and I have not encountered any problems. The Logitech web site has all the downloads should you need them. Value-wise this is a great deal.

Digital camera Review: Best wireless mouse I've ever used
Summary: 5 Stars

And quite possibly the best mouse period.

My previous Logitech mouse crapped out after about a year, and I have a Microsoft miniature wireless mouse sitting in my drawer right now collecting dust. That's because that mouse, like most wireless mice, has unpredictable response and poor reception. But not this puppy. I've been using it for over a month now and am very happy with its performance.

Digital camera Review: Bought one for my desktop, I loved the one I got for Mom's laptop so much!
Summary: 5 Stars

*UPDATE*

When I returned home from my visit with my parents (where I'd installed the first of these great Logitech cordless laptop mice), I tried connecting my mouse to my desktop (I'm just a desktop kinda girl - more bang for your buck IMHO, even if you can't take it with you). As you might expect, of course it didn't work (no surprise to me either), being that the USB ports on a desktop are NOT within line of sight of the mouse as they are with a laptop (precisely why, I'm certain, these are designated as being for laptops, or notebooks, as the packaging says).

Well, lucky me, the problem was easily remedied using one of Amazon's excellently-made AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters). I actually went with the shorter of the two - the 1 meter cord, and it's plenty long for extending one of the USB ports at the rear of my tower to the surface of my desk, where the mouse's optical sensor can pick up on the receiver (or vice versa).

So, long story short, don't let the "for Notebooks" on this packaging dissuade you from buying it, but just keep in mind that you most likely WILL need a USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female extension cable for this to work with a desktop. With that on hand, it'll work just as spectacularly with your desktop as it will your laptop/notebook!

I decided that my mom needed a new, more technologically up-to-date mouse for her new Dell laptop, and I noticed this on sale at nearly 50% off in the latest Big Blue and Gold local Electronics store sales flyer, so off to my local store I went.

I picked one of these smooth little numbers up for mom, and have since ordered another one for me, since I immediately developed tech envy upon opening up and connecting this mouse to Mom's laptop.

Logitech's V220 is very cleverly designed with its slide-on, slide-off feature for the receiver, even if the receiver itself is a little larger than it probably needs to be. I love the fact that there's a power switch on the bottom of this mouse to turn it off and save battery power if you just don't feel like waiting for your mouse to take care of that for you. It's also super easy to pop the battery compartment off (which is right beneath where your palm will cup the widest and tallest curve of the mouse), and the weight that the battery adds is just enough to make it feel solid and give it the proper heft under your hand. In the hand, it truly is highly ergonomic and very, very comfortable. The buttons and wheel are very quiet, which was exactly what I wanted to replace Mom's old, "clicky", wired Logitech mouse. The rubber side grips and depressions in the sides make it easy to comfortably grip and hold the mouse.

There's no actual system "installation" required for this wireless mouse. Just pop the AA battery into the compartment (which it comes with, thankfully, and a reputable Duracell at that), plug the receiver into one of your USB ports, and go. When I connected this to my Mom's laptop, it was already shut down, so I connected everything while it was still off, turned it on, and that was that. Her system instantly recognized it.

It MIGHT take you a few minutes to acclimate to just how super zippy and fast this mouse is once you've connected it. It is MUCH faster and more responsive than any of the mice that I've used before, and I consider that a testament to how well made this mouse is.

Now that Mom's system has this mouse connected, I can't WAIT to get mine for my system. It's going to make everything so much easier! Super comfy Simming and computing, here I come!

Digital camera Review: Cheap but good
Summary: 5 Stars

Not too big but not too small, perfect for the ladies. The click wheel scrolls just the way I want, with no jumps or delays. I love how the USB slides in and automatically turns it off. I got the blue but it isn't as pictured here. Otherwise, I recommend highly!!

Digital camera Review: Comfortable and compact

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I liked this mouse. I was pleasently surprised by it's comfort for it's small size. I have big hands and in the past I have avoided smaller Logitech mouses because my hand can't relax on them. This one is different. The shape of this mouse fits into the palm of my hand and my fingers are able to relax on top of the buttons.

I also like the improve battery door. My current laptop mouse is a full size wireless Logitech mouse and changing the battery is a pain. Now a simple button push pops open the door and the change is quick.

The last nice feature of this mouse is that the USB receiver slides into its own slot on the back of the mouse. Now the mouse and the receiver can stay together when not in use. I like this feature, however I would have preferred a carrying case.

Either way this is a comfortable mouse and if going small is what yu need, you can't go wrong with this
