Digital camera reviews of Logitech V450 Cordless Laser Mouse

Digital camera Review: 4 Star -But read on!
Summary: 1 Stars

I actually would give this mouse a 4 or 5-star but who reads the good reviews? People want to know what can go wrong, right? So this is what can go wrong:
The USB transmitters do not like to be paired with another V450 mouse without using the Logitech Connection Utility downloaded with the drivers. If you use the mouse, install the drivers. I bought 3 of these mice used. A new mouse probably will not have the problem, but they're only new "before" you open the package, right?
Take the USB transmitter out, insert the batteries (you have to push on a secret little button on the bottom of the mouse inside the stick slot to open the battery compartment) and turn on the mouse. The LED on the bottom should light up green and stay on. The LED on the top of the mouse turn on green for "good" battery, red for "low" battery, and blinking-red for "call CSI". If it turns green it will fade to "off" in a few seconds, so enjoy it while it lasts. THis is normal.
After plugging the transmitter into your computer's USB slot it should connect ("boo-beep" sound on a PC.). Hover on the Logitech Icon on the right task bar to check the mouse's battery. If there is no "battery is good" popup then the mouse is NOT connected. If you run the Logitech Setpoint driver utility there should be a tab called "My Mouse" when run. If not, then the mouse is not connected. "Half-connected" the mouse will give a "good battery indication" (see above) but if the cursor does not move you have to use the Connection Utility that came with the drivers to reset the mouse.
Oh, the pain I went through trying to get 3 used V450's working! But once connected...I love them. Except he dead one. CSI Logitech, come get this one.

Digital camera Review: A Perfect Mouse for Your Notebook or Even Desktop
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this mouse 4 months ago after I lost my old beloved wireless trackball when I moved. I bought this mouse from Sam's Club as a replacement for $25. I had some initial doubts about going back to basic mouse after using the trackballs for years. But I'm so happy with this mouse I will probably never go back to trackball now.

When you open the package you see 2 included AA batteries - not just any batteries, but Duracell batteries. How many times have you seen, say, a remote control, come with some cheap no-name batteries? But Logitech is certainly not cutting corners. It gave me two nice Duracell batteries. Now 4 months later with daily use, my software indicates the battery level is still "good."

Even though the mouse takes in 2 AA batteries, the mouse is surprisingly small. It makes me wonder sometimes how you can cram two AA batteries in there. But Logitech did it.

The small USB receiver attaches directly to the USB port. Some wireless mice have receives that connect to the USB port through a cord, which sort of defeats the purpose of being wireLESS. This is a much better design.

The signal between the mouse and the receiver is very good. I just tested the mouse-receiver range for the purpose of this review. I have no problem getting the mouse to work 15 feet away, which is the maximum test range that my living room allows.

I especially like the feature that you can store the receiver inside the mouse itself when not in use. I'm not a person who keeps good track of where everything is, and given the small size of the receiver, I'm sure this has saved me hours of time trying to locate the receiver.

The mouse uses laser to track movement. My computer work does not require laser precision, but still this is nice. The mouse works on almost any surface, even white blank paper. I haven't tested it on glass though. If you're really determined, I'm sure you can find one or two rare surfaces that the mouse doesn't work well on.

The scroll wheel can also click left and right. In the provided program, you can set the sideway clicks to function as scroll left and right, as "back" and "forward" in web browsing, or as something else. It's a huge help.

The only feature I wished it had was to have the USB receiver also function as a flash drive. But I'm extremely satisfied as it is. If you're looking for a easy-to-carry mouse for your notebook, or just a mouse that does what it's supposed to do without all the bells and whistles, this is it.

Digital camera Review: A great buy for a laptop **or** a desktop!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros: Light weight, lazer, decent size, very responsive, wireless mouse...

Cons: Haven't found any yet...

I bought this mouse for my desktop and it works great. I did use a USB extention cable plugged into the back of my desktop, so I would quit bumping the reciever when plugged into the front. Over this is an excellent purchase!

Digital camera Review: A great disappointment!

So I get this UPS package from Amazon, snatch it from the guy with almost unbridled anticipation, shaking it so very slightly to estimate what I thought was inside. Of course, I expected my mouse to be inside and consequently treated the package as gently as possible.

We said our goodbyes and I hastily ran to the kitchen with my precious package under my arm, searching and finding the scissors, letting the air penetrate its confines, lifting the flaps and seeing the wrapping.

I was a little surprised. I couldn't feel or see any movement, there were no sounds, there wasn't a single sensory signal coming out from under the wrapping.

I suddenly felt a wave of dread come over me. Was my precious cargo dead? Was it used and abused during its trip? My worst fears piled up, one after another.

My practical nature butted in and started regreting the purchase and acquisition of all the accomodations, the staples, doctor appointments, flu shots, I mean, all that cash thrown to the wind.

But never mind that. How about all the experiments I had planned for the Genetic Studies Department, and the anticipation of my fellow scientists when we present them with the evidence of other form of life, of how the DNA AND RNA are missing from the mouse's cells, but yet under harsh circumstances and when individually cultured, they reproduce -- the presentation is due tomorrow. I'm doomed. I'll never buy from Amazon again.

PS How they could make such an obvious mistake is beyond me.

Digital camera Review: A great laptop mouse
Summary: 4 Stars

This mouse is wonderful for travelers because of its small size and compact design. It is very accurate and precise which is good for drawing and design work. My only complaint is that I occasionally have to jiggle the receiver to get it to work. Not sure if this is the fault of the mouse itself or the usb port on my laptop, because it works perfectly on my desktop computer. It does not have all the buttons and do-dads that some mouses have, but I rarely use those so I don't miss them. I love the fact that the receiver fits into the mouse for storage so you can't lose it. It is a good size for my hand, and I have an average size woman's hand with long fingers. Men may disagree if they have a large hand. I have been happy with all logitech mouses I have used, and this one is no exception.
