Digital camera reviews of Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse (Blue)

Digital camera Review: A Warning for Mac OS X Users
Summary: 2 Stars

I have the Logitech Bluetooth Mouse in gray, and it performs poorly in Mac OS X, including both Leopard and Snow Leopard. The main problem is that the mouse pointer moves far too rapidly except on the slowest setting. But then the slowest setting is way too slow. So your options are either way too slow, way too fast, way too fast(er), and way too fast(est), etc.

The slowest setting is unusable, so I move it up to the next slowest setting, and then the mouse is hard to control, due to it being too fast.

Bottom line is that I replaced this mouse after a few weeks. Instead, I've been using a corded Microsoft Notebook Mouse, and I'm getting ready to try cordless again with the new Apple Magic Mouse. I have tried out the Apple Magic Mouse (bluetooth), and it performs perfectly.

Digital camera Review: A decent and reliable travel mouse
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this mouse about three years ago with my new MacBook. Took it everywhere my the computer went too, right in the cramped travel bag with everything else. After three years of wear and tear, it's sitting next to me right now, still a very functional piece of hardware. With that said, I think I've got a pretty good handle on all of the pros and cons of this particular mouse.
Getting right to the point, let's start with he positives. It's easy to use if you know anything about setting up bluetooth devices with your computer, and there's no need to waste another USB port because it's straight bluetooth, which is a huge advantage to someone who lives on a laptop. The battery life is decent, a few months of constant use, at least, and the light on top starts warning you when you've only got a few days left. It helps that it has a few feature to keep the waste down, shutting off automatically when left in disuse, having an easy to access on/off switch, ETC. The scrolling and general sensitivity has a good rate.
On the downside, though, the construction feels a little cheap. The three years of service this mouse has proves that it's certainly not something fragile, though, despite feeling like it's made of discarded water bottles. The little layer of grip rubber around the sides has also peeled away over time to nothing, making the sides of my particular mouse just more of the cheesy plastic. It takes a few seconds to connect again whenever it's disconnected, which is generally not more than a minor inconvenience, but it's still worth mention. Also, it does have a strange occasional want to just fly to the top of the screen for no apparent reason, a little frustrating when playing a game involving the mouse, but otherwise just another mild irritant.
All-in-all, it's a good mouse. Not great, but simple and functional. Maybe not worth $40 in this day and age (luckily mine was a gift), but certainly worth every penny if you can find it for, say, $25 anywhere.

Digital camera Review: A fairly good mouse, with a few issues.
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this mouse to go with my Acer 7740g gaming laptop. I am using in conjunction with an Iomega Bluetooth dongle, as my laptop doesn't have BT built in.

I am writing this primarily as a PC user for all the other PC users who are considering using this product. Most of the review about this product seem to be from MAC users who are loving the white version of this mouse, since it matches the color of their 'computers'. Basically, I wrote this for all the users of REAL computers! :)

THINGS I LIKE:

1 Love the color. (Blue!) It matches MY ACER quite well. (touche' Mackies!)

2 I was happy with how easy this was to install with Windows 7. No drivers needed.

3 It keeps its connection to my Laptop very well.

THINGS I HATE:

1 Mouse goes to sleep far too quickly, It is not the end of the world, since it wakes up fairly quickly too, but still can be irritating.

2 The MOUSE IS TOO SMALL! Yes, I know, it needs to be portable, but I have LARGE MANLY HANDS. (As I suspect many PC users do, primarily because most of us are not 8 year old girls.) This thing hurts to use for long periods of time. To give you some idea, if it had 3 times the volume, it would fit rather well in my hand. As it is, my hand has no support and ends up fatigued.

Conclusion:

As far as I can tell, this is the best Bluetooth mouse available as of the date of this review. If you must have a Bluetooth mouse, then this is probably the one you should buy. Just know what you are getting into.

Digital camera Review: A good overall choice
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted a mouse that would connect without a dongle to my notebook. Bluetooth was the obvious choice. After a month of use here are my opinions:

Pros: easy to connect, set up and use. On/off switch to save battery life (if only I can remember to switch it off when I'm done!) Ergonomic design for long usage comfort. Logitech quality. Color choices to match your computer/style. Good value

Cons: can only be set up with one computer at a time. You must add/re-add to use with 2 or more computers. I have 3 notebooks I was hoping to use this with but the `married' to one applies here. Although it is small and compact wish it had a slightly lower profile for packing/transporting.

Good enough I purchased 2 more to use on my other notebooks. For compact Bluetooth mice I recommend this product.

Digital camera Review: A great little mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

This mouse fits the hand well and moves smooth and accurately on just about any surface including my bare hairy leg. The tilt wheel and zoom are more usefull then I had expected. This mouse is perfect for my Asus Eee 1000h. The Eee has no removable disk drive so I simply copied the included cd to a USB flash drive using another pc with a drive and ran the setup off the flash drive. Setup was simple. I almost got the MS 5000 but saw some neg reviews so I went with this one. I'm real happy with this mouse.
