Digital camera Review: Do not buy for a Media PC
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this combo keyboard and mouse for use on a Media PC from about 9 feet away. Unfortunately the product description didn't mention the range of the keyboard and mouse to the receiver. After opening the package, setting it up, and messing with it from a distance of about a foot away, I thought, "This is sweet!" because the keyboard and mouse felt good to use. It was very responsive, the keyboard felt good to the touch, and even without drivers, a few of the enhanced function keys worked. Then I moved back to my couch and said, "What the heck is this garbage?" because the mouse and keyboard would barely respond to anything I was doing on-screen. Then I opened the manual and looked at the instructions.

It has a range of 8 INCHES.

I was originally debating on getting a combo bluetooth keyboard and mouse, however most of those combos are really expensive, BUT they have a range of 33 feet. I was expecting better range from this wireless technology. I figure what's the point if you don't have any range? I'm kind of at a crossroads between keeping this and sending it back because for my desktop computer, I'm using a tried and true 15 year old keyboard that came with my old 486 machine. Even lacks windows keys, but it works great. I may use this to replace it, since the receiver will be within 8 inches, and I do like the feel of the keyboard and mouse. Plus I don't want to spend 10 dollars to ship this back.

So, to those of you intending to use this for a Media PC - DON'T, unless you want to have your nose touch your TV screen, or if you want to buy a USB extension cord in addition to this keyboard/mouse combo to move the receiver all the way across the room to where you're sitting. All around, I'm disappointed.

To Amazon Staff: Can you please add ranges to your product descriptions for wireless items such as this? It will help us determine which is more appropriate for the uses we intend to do and avoid dissatisfied customers.

Digital camera Review: Does the job...
Summary: 5 Stars

We got the wireless keyboard and mouse a little over a month ago for my husband's new laptop. It's the first laptop for us and my husband didn't like the touchpad and small keyboard, so we got this Logitech set. His laptop is on a computer desk and the Logitech keyboard and mouse are on a pull out keyboard shelf, below the level of the laptop. The rceiving unit is on top of the desk plugged into a USB port on the laptop. The wireless keyboard and mouse are performing just like they are supposed to and my husband is very happy with them.

Digital camera Review: Doesn't work at more than 3' or 4'. Only good fairly close.
Summary: 3 Stars

OK, so I've owned several Logitech products in the past and I've generally really liked them. Logitech has never let me down in quality or value. Until now.

I recently bought a PC that I hooked up to my TV. As others have tried, I wanted to buy a wireless keyboard and mouse so I could use the computer from my easy chair about 10' away.

I read the reviews on the distance being a potential problem, but I figured some people are just whiners and don't know how to set things up. In this case, all my whiny brothers and sisters were right on. That actually means they weren't whiners at all! Sorry guys!

The first problem with the receiver is that, as others mention, it has to be in the exact line of sight for the mouse and keyboard to work. I've never had an issue like this with other wireless keyboards and mice before. I ended up having to hang the receiver over the top front edge of my TV stand so I could use even use the mouse and keyboard from any distance at all.

The second problem was that after four or so feet away, the keyboard and mouse would only respond intermittently. This was a very frustrating experience and I was happy to have the suggestion of the more expensive Eee PC wireless keyboard and mouse.

I ended up returning this product and am enjoying the Eee PC setup from 10+ feet away!

Digital camera Review: Don't Waste Your Money
Summary: 1 Stars

This product is a piece of junk! I spent six frustrating months with a keyboard that repeatedly failed to record keystrokes and had a horrible feel. The mouse was even more frustrating. It didn't work unless it was withing 8 to 12" from the wireless desktop devise.

I reloaded the software and replaced the batteries more than acouple of times, but nothing changed... just pure frustration!

My Logitech units are now where they belong... in the rubbish!

I've found that there is better technology with 2.4 GHz, which has a range of 10 meters (32.8 feet) and no wireless desktop unit.

I've been very pleased with the Verbatim Slim Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 96983 and the 2.4 GHz technology. Check it out... you will not be disappointed.

Digital camera Review: Easy to use, Easy to set-up
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had Logitech products before and have had good luck in the past. My previous Wireless keyboard and mouse lasted two years. This product was very easy to set-up and use. I only use the basic functionality and it worked well.
