This is an excellent set of PC Speakers. Easy set-up, solid and substantial cabinets and for the money you cannot beat the price anywhere. The sound is very good across all of the ranges. These speakers rock! The sound is very crisp and clean. I heard background singers on my cd's I have never heard before with either my Bose speakers or Sennheiser headset. All of the plugs and connecting cords are permanently attached to the back of the speakers and are much thicker than most. In addition, the power plug is a normal 3 prong instead of a fat dc converter. If you are looking for booming bass that fills a room these are not for you, but if you are looking for a quality pair of desktop speakers with clear detailed sound that also work great with a walkman or mp3 I highly recommend them.Digital camera Review: Decent but not replacement for 2.1 speaker

I have this about a month. The first thing I notice from this speaker is that it's heavier than it look. It's heavier than it suppose to be from the price we pay. Thus, it really makes me feel like this speaker (Logitech X-140) is built with quality. However, the second thing i notice is that "when I turn on, it makes a loud high pitch sound". It loud enough making me blink my eyes even though I already know what to expect after a week of using it. The sounds is decent but not great. It lost some details in mid-tone and high.
I use it for my laptop because I don't want so many sound system in my room. The lines are long enough for desktops, too.
Originally, I was going to return it but I got lazy. The loud high pitch turn-on-sound is extremely annoy. My laziness makes me bear with it or just simplely leave it "on" forever.

I was really just looking for a pair of speakers to get my girlfriend so that she would be bored out of her mind while she was surfing the internet. She's no audiophile, so quality wasn't a big issue. These seemed to fit the bill. Once I got them, I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't ecstatic, mind you, but I wasn't disappointed. Good quality, good base response, and they seem sturdy enough.
The tweeter and woofer are connected, so when a decent amount of bass hits, you'll lose a little bit of the mid-high/high frequency response. Also, The volume knob is kind of stiff. You turn it on and at about 10 o'clock on the volume dial, it kind of gets stuck. It's stiff to the point where you've either got to leave it right at about the 10 o'clock position, or turn it all the way up to 12/1 o'clock. Other than those minor issues (I guess that depends on who you're asking) their good speakers. If you're serious about your computer audio, don't bother. But if you just want to be able to hear music and videos when you're surfing the web, go for it.

I was probably just unlucky, but these did not work initially when I received them. After shaking them and whacking them several times, they began functioning and have worked fine ever since (about 6 months). I decided not to send them back for replacement due to the hassle. However, I'm obviously concerned they will fail again.
Other than the lack of reliability, I have no complaints. The quality is fine. They create plenty of sound for computer speakers, look nice, and don't take up too much space.
