Digital camera reviews of Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard (Black)Digital camera Review: A whole batch of Bad Keyboards Summary: 2 Stars
My wife and I decided to try this jewel out. We accepted that it's battery life was not great (and both being prior Avionics Technicians figured we could figure out how to change the battery when it does die). It's beautiful, feels great, looks good; is light, is stylish; the isstallation on Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit was a snap. The update from the Mfg website was simple. Everything worked great EXCEPT the touch disk. It refused to work. We drove the 75 miles to the Comp USA where we bought it and took it to the Geek Squad, "help we are stupid and dumb". They couldn't get it to work on the same OS either (did not try vista or XP). They pulled a new one off the shelf, it didn't work, they got a third, same old story. At that point the store manager said they were returning the rest because they did not get full refunds for opened products. So, no wireless keboard & touchpad for my wife yet. Do yourself a favor, if you purchase in a store, make their tech support check it out first. Their was obviously a bad bunch of these. Dave
Digital camera Review: AMAZING! simply... amazing... Summary: 4 Stars
I was sceptical about this keyboard, especially when i read some of the negative reviews (I always take them into consideration first) and so when it arrived i held it, and just the size and feel gave it 2 stars. I let it charge overnight and the next days when i begain to type with it I was instantly happy with my purchace.
The keystrokes are perfect, i can type faster, and don't ever remimber second guessing myself while typing. The keyboard is thin and light, so when i go to eat i can easily move it, eat, and move it back, it has to be one of the most convienent features about this keyboard.
I don't use many of the other features, but for someone who needs a number pad, or uses the play/pause/forward/backward buttons, this could be tedious, as you have to press the inconvenintly placed fn button followed by one of the F buttons to access it.
I recharge it every week just to be safe, but it has never even indicated that it was anywhere near running out of batties. this baby can hold a charge.
I have no problems with it, but the price is a bit steep and there are some features that might aggrovate some other people, which takes a star away.
Digital camera Review: ARE REPLACEMENTS ANY BETTER? Summary: 3 Stars
Three stars only for the huge inconvenience I'm about to incur. I would very much like to see an update or comment from someone who's returned this keyboard, DUE TO THE BATTERY NOT HOLDING ITS CHARGE, and hear whether or not the replacement has had the same problem.
Bought mine 6 mos ago; problem with recharging began a month ago. I get 23 days on a full charge, but it drops 3 days from one day to the next, so I'm sure the battery is on its deathbed. I tried everything Logitech support suggested: cleaning the metal contacts on the keyboard, making sure the keyboard is properly/firmly seated on the charger, and using a different electrical outlet. Nothing helped.
The recharging problem aside, I love typing on this keyboard. Yes, it's far from perfect and I hate the price I had to pay for it. But having tried more keyboards for my desktop than I care to admit, and hating all of them for their clickety-click inability to keep up with fast typing, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I first tried this one. This keyboard may not be for the person still having to put in any sort of 8-hr day with different software programs. But for plain, simple typing, this keyboard is it. Believe me, there is none better.
I disagree with the one reviewer who felt the Bluetooth technology was useless at a desktop. The older wireless keyboards still required a cut-out in the back of my desk, to get the "remote" unit within range. Having no wire at all - to get tangled with others or also collect dust - is fantastic. I don't use the circular touch-disk very often. I opted instead to buy Logitech's VX Nano mouse, the one made especially for laptops. I love the small size; it's super fast. And it fits nicely next to the diNovo with room left over on the keyboard shelf.
Last, is there anyone out there - who will admit to having purchased a SECOND diNOVO, so as not to be without it while the first is sent off for repair or replacement? I'm thinking about it.
Digital camera Review: Absolutely love it! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. With its Bluetooth capability, I had this keyboard working on my laptop within two minutes...needless to mention it is wireless...I cannot stand wires needles to say when you have to trace them to your pc/laptop. I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone who cannot stand wires like myself. Also, the fingerboard on it can be used to replace your mouse. It takes a little getting used to at first.
Digital camera Review: All that I hoped for Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this keyboard to use with a Lenovo T60 laptop, to allow the Laptop screen to be at an ergonomically comfortable height on a table but with the keyboard down at lap-height. It is a great success.
The bluetooth pairing was painless, and no action is required to either walk away with the laptop in the morning or returning -- the keyboard is simply 'alive' when I want it. (The range is great: I was on the 3rd floor of my house with the laptop, and my son was on the 1st floor, became curious, and typed on the keyboard....)
It took a week to get used to the mouse-pad and placement of some keys, but now it is perfectly comfortable for touch-typing and the navigation/scrolling schemes are just fine.
It is quite sleek and attractive, and the charger/holder is easy to use.
Strongly recommended.
