Digital camera reviews of Logitech mm50 Portable Speaker System for iPod (White)Digital camera Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this item at the apple store. The clerk really sold it to me, stating that the speakers were superior to the ihome system. I'm very disappointed with the sound quality. I purchased it to listen to my audio books. I often have to raise the volume to the highest level just to hear the audio, but then I get a terrible screeching noise. This noise is not part of the audio. It sounds fine on my headphones or my larger boom box. Also, I cannot play music with the logitech speakers. There is absolutely no bass at all. It just sounds downright horrible. Furthermore, sometimes the stupid device turns on for no reason (once in the middle of the night). And when I charge it, at times, it doesn't take a full charge. This was a total waste of money. I bought it to listen to audio books in the car, so I wouldn't have to use headphones and risk getting pulled over. Well, I'm back to my headphones. I don't know if the ihome is any better, but save your money with this device.
Digital camera Review: Disappointing sound quality Summary: 2 Stars
I bought the product based on a review, and listening to it briefly in a noisy consumer electronics store. But the sound quality was so poor that I sold it on Ebay. I don't think you can get good sound quality in this price range.
The product did not come from Amazon itself; Amazon acted as the liaison. The retailer has a terrible return policy, which is why I sold it on Ebay

I took time to read several reviews for this product and was expecting a much better quality speaker system. THESE DO NOT SOUND AS GOOD OR EVEN CLOSE TO BOSE! They sound about a good as one would expect for this size of an unit. You can only adujst the volume level to a certain point, so that means if you can't hear the song that well and you are at max volume, too bad, it won't go any higher! That's with adjusting the volume on the ipod to max as well while docked to this system. I noticed that Rock songs get distorted and sound like they might blow out the speaker system even at low volume. (I did change the ipod EQ to small speaker as well as all the other options to try and fix this problem.)I snagged these speakers for 55.00 dollars, thank goodness or I would have been very upset had I paid 149.00. (I orderd these through an amazon partner store, but they have a restocking fee and I'd have to pay the shipping back. Not gonna do that.) So I'll hang on to these speakers and use them for camping or out on the deck.
I have to agree with another poster regarding this product, they do sound better if you are in another room if the song playing is one that produces a good sound level, now if only the remote could be used through walls, wouldn't that be great? I will give these speakers 3 stars, as I do think that they are probably pretty good if you are looking for a system that is portable and has a decent sound to them. However I would not pay more than the 55.00 for them.
Cheers!
Digital camera Review: Does not charge Nano Gen 4 and later, or Touch, or iPhone Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this unit many years ago. Sound quality is OK. The only thing that it does not charge my new iPod Nano and iPod Touch. It still plays the sound, though.
Digital camera Review: Don't look anywhere else. Summary: 5 Stars
I searched and searched and read reviews and finally after listening several speaker, I liked the Logitech mm50 the best. The unit sounds wonderful. When I got it I tunred it on and my wife walked into the room and said that the stereo sounds great. I showed it what it was and she could not believe it. This product is a no brainer if you are looking for a neat way to unleash the sounds of your iPod at home or on the road.
Highly recommended!!!! Enjoy!!!
