Digital camera reviews of Lowepro Fastpack 250 (Red)Digital camera Review: Closest to that "Perfect DSLR Backpack" Summary: 5 Stars
After a lot of research online and at different store, I don't have to think twice that this DSLR-laptop backpack is closest to the perfect backpack I was looking for. I bought an Ape Case Pro for Digital Slr Cameras Large Size By: Norazza, returned it. Then got a Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack (Black) and compared a Nikon Backpack for DSLR, Lenses, and Laptop. Fastpack 250 clearly stood out from others in multiple aspects.
- Very quick in using due to the side access to the main camera pocket.
- Comfortable for long outdoor trips. Camera weight is at the bottom and all weight is adjusted well with the waist strap.
- Very spacious from inside. Ample space for D60, 2 lenses, 1 camcorder, 1 flash, charger-power cable-USB cable.
- Adjustable pockets with velcro.
- Great protection. Very thick padding for both camera & laptop.
- One backpack to carry laptop, DSLR, & camcorder.
- Cleverly designed flap. The media cards in the top pockets will never fall off, as the flap stops half-way through.
- One outside zipper pocket on top for quick access. One accessory pocket outside main flap.
- Main pocket on top has space for cellphone, pens, markers, laptop battery-pack, accessories etc.
- Great looks.
The only scope of improvement is following:
- A hook/attachment option to attach the tripod carry case. (However, I still rated it as 5 star)
The solution for this problem is: Buy a small tripod which can fit in a stroller. You can take it along while going on flight and can always keep it in car on road trips.
I have also uploaded some images with notes in the Customer Images section. Hope it helps.
Digital camera Review: Exactly what I was looking for!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I was trying to find a bag that let me consolidate my computer (Dell Laptop), camera (Canon 7D w/Battery pack and several lens) and a few misc other things when traveling or going on site for smaller things. This bag hit the mark! Going through the airport is a breeze now that everything is easy to access and get in/out of ONE bag. This setup was exactly what I was hoping to find and it works great.
The only drawback I have found so far is that with the battery pack on the 7D the camera can't stand up vertically in the bag, it's a little too tall. So, I put on a short lens and lay it on it's back. It would be nice if there was an extra 1/2 height in the bag. Maybe someday I'll try the 350! But, this is a minor inconvenience as compared to carrying two bags around all the time (computer & camera#...
PS - since it's a LowePro, I didn't bother to talk about the quality and build, all the bags I've purchased over the last 10 years #4-5 of them) were LowePro's and all were top notch...
Digital camera Review: Flexible Pack Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this pack because I looked forward to quick access to my camera at a notice. I liked previous Lowepro products so i decided to get this one. the 350 was larger but i did not want something too large for myself.
It has what semmed like a small camera area but it holds one DSLR body with a 70-300 lens attached. 50-150mm 2.8 , 17-50mm 2.8 and 50mm 1.4 inside that area. It also has room for a spare battery and rocket blower.
The laptop area is too roomy for my 13 inch but a 15 inch would be fine in there or books/magazines. The top area is a bit small for me. i was hoping for more space. It can hold a sack lunch well with a flash.
The cell phone holder is quite small. I would like it a bit taller and wider. Do not expect to fit anything but a minimal phone in there. I wish it had a chest strap to help me carry it when i load it up but maybe it just means I should cut my load.
Digital camera Review: Great Backpack! Summary: 5 Stars
Puchased for our new D5000 Nikon and it works great! We put our laptop, camera etc. in it. Love the fact that it has room for wallet, phone, etc. as well. Very sturdy and easy to carry. Would recommend.
Digital camera Review: Great Bag Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great bag. Large enough to hold all of your camera stuff, plus extra space for the kids games and a diaper or two. It isn't too overwhelming either. If you are concerned about toting around a large bag for daily camera outings, than the Fastpack 100 may be a better option.
