Digital camera reviews of Lowepro Fastpack 250 (Red)Digital camera Review: Great camera bag! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this product to be able to take my camera gear on vacation and on hikes. The quality is great. The only problem I have had is that one of the sipper pulls came off, and I need to find something sturdy to replace it. It is easy to access your camera (with a little practice). You can fit a ton of stuff in this bag. I currently have my 40D (with grip), 70-200L IS, 70-300 IS, 28-135 IS, 50mm 1.8, and my 430ex flash all in there. There is also plenty of room in the bonus top compartment for either camera related or non-camera related stuff. (I have even used the top portion as my purse and small diaper bag there is so much room in there! Great for shorter daytrips so you aren't carrying 2 or 3 different bags!!) The laptop are is nice. Since I do not have a laptop I can use this area for books and such. The waste strap that comes around offers great support for longer excursions. I would buy this bag again and again. Can't go wrong with it!!
Digital camera Review: Lowepro Fastpack 250 Summary: 5 Stars
The Lowepro Fastpack 250 easily carries my Nikon D3, 24 - 70 mm f2.8 lens, my 70 - 300 mm VR lens, my 18 - 200 mm VR lens, my 50 mm f1.8 lens and my 12 - 24 mm lens along with all the accessories including my Wolverine ESP portable disk drive and spare battery. In addition I carry a Dell Latitude 15.4 inch display laptop computer and power supply. It adjusts easily for carrying on my back and for short distances has a carrying loop on top. This product rates tops with me!
Digital camera Review: Lowepro Fastpack 250 for Nikon D80 Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this back pack after reading reviews of the numerous options available. I didn't want something HUGE but it needed to be big enough to carry the extra lenses and manuals and cables and chargers, etc. I LOVE it. There is just enough room for everything. I like the fact that it fits on my back and it is "pick pocket" proof with the extra clasps and flaps.
Digital camera Review: Mind you, it's BIG Summary: 5 Stars
On the photos you find on the web you won't see the true size of this backpack. I guess it maximizes the allowed size for hand luggage at most airlines. Not that big for a bag you take for a 2-3 day trip. HUGE for a photo camera backpack. I was really surprised. Just purchased it today, along with a new DSLR (pentax K-5; not very big), an external flash, and two lenses (primes, so not very big). All my new gear just disappeared in the huge abdomen of this Lowe backpack. I was scared :)
Yet, size is not a problem for me. The true gripe I have is with the lack of a typical all-weather cover, which you find with a lot of other Lowepro products.
All the rest is just positives. The photo gear compartment easily holds your DSLR (or SLR if you like) with a telephoto lens attached, 2-3 smaller lenses, and a flash. In the remaining compartments (or caverns I'd rather say) you'll easily fit all the wires and chargers your gear requires. And a laptop (13" fits easily with lots of room to spare).
The backpack emits a very solid impression and you won't be hesitating to trust it with the well-being of your DSLR or expensive lenses. The partitions are very well padded and fastened to the side walls of the bag with rugged burrs. The inside and outside materials seem durable. Wearing comfort is good, so it should handle even longer treks with ease.
It truly is a backpack you can take for your fly-away holiday with a camera, laptop and basic essentials. And keeps your hands free.
Digital camera Review: My second camera bag Summary: 5 Stars
I was planning a longer trip to Asia, and of course I wanted my DSLR camera with me, as well as my laptop. I could only bring one bag for both, and my camera bag didn't have room for my laptop and vice versa. So I compromised and purchased this.
I have a large and heavy laptop, and it fits just fine in the bag. I had to jiggle a bit to get it in and out, but I found quickly out what to do. I brought my camera and three lenses (the biggest is a 55-300mm lens) with me. They fit well in the bottom camera area, and the camera was easy to get in and out. The top pocket is a lot bigger than I thought. I had room for a camera book, my Kindle, all the cables I needed and few other things, snacks and so on. I never filled it completely. On the front there is a small pocket, and I could put the customs paper work there.
I have tendinitis in my left shoulder, so I figured out quickly that I needed to put it over the left shoulder first. I couldn't use the stomach strap because of my shoulder, as I couldn't reach back for it. Therefore I didn't get to try to take it off as described. So I ended up having to taking it completely off and putting it on the floor in order to get my camera, otherwise it was too difficult to juggle bad shoulder, bag and zippers plus camera.
Due to the heaviness of my laptop, I ended up leaving it at the office every day when I went back to the hotel. The camera in the bag was super-light. I could hardly feel I was carrying it. But I got comments from tourists in Hong Kong that it was a big camera bag and that I had to have lots of camera equipment with me. It doesn't have a nice place to store a tripod, so I left that at home.
All in all, a nice bag.
