Oh my god - i can't believe how i lived without this product.Before - i used to spend countless hours trying to get those damn blank cd disc packeges open! - i mean god - its like they package the stuff up so tight that it can't come undone during shipping - sometimes i wish they would make it easier.
Thats when my friend Jethro introduced me to this new-fangled dohicky. God - the differances!!! - i can now open a new box of 100 disc cd's in under a minute now!!! (which believe me - with all my... uhhh... nature - i need to store all that i can - i go through 100 cd's in under 2 weeks) - now with this device - i can save my nimble fingers for........ well......... uhh........ other activities.........
Buy it now - or be the stupid kid who everyone laughs at!

First, look when the reviews on this product were written...a LONG time ago. Since then, CD openers HAVE evolved and I strongly suggest you take a look at the CD Stripper because it is not only sturdy and child-proof but recently got rave reviews in Readers Digest for being a great product...and they are right...it is.
Why? Well, for one thing it has the unique feature of being both safe from very young fingers, especially those of toddlers... but simple enough for a child to use without getting hurt. It is sturdy and lasts for quite awhile. It was manufactured by a mother who needed an opener the whole family could use without risking damage to the CDs. The CD Stripper does the job.
Until the, this one was fine. But spend the extra money and upgrade.

As I sit here with my latest haul of CD purchases, I realize what a wonderful little gadget this is. I probably got my Maxell CD opener before amazon.com even existed. It still works great and has opened hundreds of CDs for me. Blade still retracts properly when not in use. One negative is it may score cardboard CD cases if you're not careful.
