This is a simple, inexpensive device to recharge the battery on the Sansa series 200 MP3 players. It includes a USB cable (apparently identical to the one that comes with the players). The Sansa players can be recharged from the cable using a computer's USB port, but the Macally device simply plugs into an A/C wall socket. I took it to Europe and used a simple 230 V adaptor for European A/C sockets and it recharged the MP3 player within a couple of hours. The Macally charger worked fine the first couple of times I used it.
Most recently--when I plugged it in--I got a message on my Sansa e280's screen, something about the battery being incapable of being charged.
I don't have any problems charging my Sansa with SanDisk or Griffin brand AC chargers, nor with my SanDisk base station. No error messages; all of these work fine.
Would no longer dare plugging in the Macally charger...if it "thinks" my battery is defective (when these other products don't complain), I don't trust what effect it might have on the player.
I've had the same issue (others have mentioned) with the cable falling out. Not that it matters, for a charger I'll never again be using.

The charger works ok I guess, it charges the MP3 player pretty fast.
Well, this one has a USB connector that is a bit loose. When I plug the USB cord into this charger, it just slides out very easily. It should be a firm fit, like all other USB connections I've ever used.
Maybe I got a bad unit. I have to gently leave it alone while charging and not touch it, otherwise the cord will slip out.

The first time I used the charger it seemed to work fine. The second time I used it it didn't seem to be charging, the plug wouldn't stay in the socket. Upon closer inspection it appears that the plug is loose and just jiggles around in the unit. I sent it back for a replacement, thank you Amazon.
Otherwise it is a nice compact size and that fact that the plug folds in is nice.

This charger looks like a box but delivers a full charge for your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player in a few hours. The charger has a LED ligth that let's you know it's charging. The 4 ft power cord is durable and the snap in works great and releases easily from the Sansa-some after market adapters don't release easliy. This is one charger you won't be dissapointed you bought and it lasts.
