Digital camera Review: Sturdy and Solid Mount

Holds the eXplorist nice and safe on the handlebars.
All the other items on my "bike's dash" have strong plastic brackets to go around the bar, I was surprised to see this one uses a METAL bracket. I hope it doesn't rust, there isn't any other steel on my bike other than the clamp bracket on this mount. They do include a piece of rubber to put around the bar first before you clamp this metal clamp, so you won't damage your bar, I just hope it doesn't end up rusting.
There are also two posts that stick out on the sides (used for the car mount, they have no use here at all, Magellan just using the same piece from the same mold to save money)
The posts meant I had to take off something else on my bar, but I will cut off the posts and then I can fit everything back on again.

I attached this mount to the handlebars of my Honda XR350R and it works great! The GPS unit is held securly and I have no problems with it moving around. Gone over 100 miles off-road so far with no problems!Digital camera Review: Works for me.

This bracket works perfectly with my eXplorist 200. Screw it onto your handlebar, snap the eXplorist in place and ride to your heart's content. I mostly ride streets and bike paths. The 200 is held tightly and has never fallen off the bike. If you go off-road, because of the weight of the eXplorist, you might want to secure it with some duct tape or Velcro.Digital camera Review: clunky

I got an explorist 200 as a gift and wanted to try is as a bicycle speedometer. Since it has a crude street map database I thought it might be useful on my road bike. I'm not very happy with it but that's a different review. The mounting bracket is big and clunky. It looks like the designer made a universal piece of plastic and then added a makeshift metal handlebar clamp. It's much heavier and bigger than it needs to be.
