Digital camera reviews of Maha Powerex MH-C801D Eight Cell 1-Hr PRO AA/AAA Charger

Digital camera Review: AWESOME
Summary: 5 Stars

I will have to say that this is the best product i have bought in a long time!!
This is the charger to end all chargers. It's also a thing of beauty!
It charges and condition 8 AA or AAA batteries in an hour. My batteries are loving it!

For photographer that use speedlights this is a Godsend!

Digital camera Review: An amazing charger
Summary: 5 Stars

The Maha MH-C801D charger is a nice change after I've ruined so many batteries with those 15 minute chargers. I'm using a combination of ENELOOP AA and Energizer 2500mah AA batteries and I am pleased with the results. The battery conditioning made some of my old batteries usable again, and the eight independent charging circuits mean that all the batteries are fully charged.

Digital camera Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

Best charger out there. Has a soft charge mode (takes about 4-6 hrs) or a normal charge mode (2-4 hrs). Charges both the old NiCd batteries as well as the NiMH. User interface is simple enough. It detects the batteries, does a quick check of how much juice is left in each one of them, and then begins to charge all at the same time. Each independent cell has its own meter and stops charging when done - It doesnt work off a timer like most chargers (it actuallys stops charging when the battery is full).

Update one year later: I dont use the unit all that often, but now the 2 right charging slots no longer show a charging status on the display. I guess the display has gone bad.

Digital camera Review: Awesome charger! Worth every penny
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this charger over a year ago. It isn't cheap - though the price now is less than I paid for it, you lucky people - but it is absolutely the best charger I have ever used. So far it has only charged AA batteries, but no reason to think it would not work just as well with other cells. It charges AAA, AA, C, D, and I believe 9-volt. Using this, I found one of my batteries was dead, which kept me from throwing out the whole set (or doing a very time-consuming elimination process, which wasn't worth it). The LCD display is great, showing how much charge is left and the current phase of the process for each battery. It does fast and slow charging, and fast and slow cycling (discharge then charge). Each slot operates independently and gets its own display segment. The right end gets a little warm as it works, and batteries can heat up as fast charging - both normal with chargers.

The only caveats: it's big, close to a footlong sub but wider. And the instructions say not to use it with AA batteries less than 2000 mAh capacity. Those don't matter since it's not meant to carry about, and all rechargeable AA's are at least 2000 mAh.

Definite buy.

Digital camera Review: Best charger I have ever used
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best charger I have ever used, Large capacity for charging your batteries, The battery indicators are very useful, Lets you know how much charge each individual battery has and when the charge is finished. Also has a condition feature to bring back old batteries to life again.
