Digital camera Review: My First ball head

This is my first ball head. Since I did not have anything to compare against, I get tell you that it works as advertised. When you lock it is stays there, not creeping. Now that I have used it, I have developed some other requirements for the next head. The next head should have a separate control for panorama. Since this head has one one lock whenever you need to change the head's position be sure to have your other hand under the support to make sure the camera does not go into directions you did not plan for. Other than that, I would still buy and use this head as my first one.Digital camera Review: Never received

I find this ball head easy to use. This is my first one and I love using it. I'm sure the more expensive heads are better, but this one works great for me.Digital camera Review: Nice head, for a monopod

I've had this for about 18 months now. It's a great head for a monopod because it has no ability to pan, like the 488. If you are using it on a tripod I strongly suggest you spend a few extra dollars and get the 488.
One other note, when you attached the camera make sure the safety switch is ingaged. It does not automatically switch into the engage position all the time. I recently had my 7D and 580EX on it and it the whole rig fell off because that switch had not engaged. Nothing happened, as it was very close to the ground, but it could have been very bad.

This is a nice ball head, it was just too big for the monopod on which I had hoped to use it so it went back. For a tripod this looks to be a very good option.
