Digital camera reviews of Manfrotto 486RC2 Compact Ball Head with RC2 Rapid Connect SystemDigital camera Review: Not bad, but a little stiff Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this so I could move my video camera around while recording action, but it is either too tight and jerks, or too loose and I may as well be holding it freehand. If I were taking still pictures, I would absolutely love it.
Digital camera Review: QUALITY AND AFFORDABILITY... Summary: 5 Stars
I picked up this ball head with the Bogen/Manfrotto 3021B Pro tripod. I have been shooting on a department store cheapo for years and decided to get a real tripod and ball head.
After days of researching different brand names in the ball head field I decided to go with this model because of it's simplicity and price. After using it I'm convinced that even the Bogen/Manfrotto entry-level ball heads are quality made and not lacking in durability.
This unit is very simple to use and maneuver, it also fits perfectly on my Bogen/Manfrotto 3021B tripod. For under $70.00 this is one of the better ball heads in the entry-level field.
Digital camera Review: Quality Product Summary: 4 Stars
I have this ball head mounted on a Manfrotto 190XPROB 3 Section Aluminum Pro Tripod and it is a fantastic combo.
The quick release system makes attaching or disconnecting the camera from the head quick and painless, and the lever makes it easy to reposition/rotate the camera a breeze with one hand.
Digital camera Review: Really good Summary: 5 Stars
This was my 1st Manfrotto item, and got me to buy 2 more. Quality, functionality, and price are hard to beat.
Digital camera Review: Reliable quality Summary: 5 Stars
Just confirming what all the others have said: this is an excellent ball head. It's maybe a bit on the heavy side, but that's the price you pay for stability. Excellent precision engineering.
