I found the monopod to be quite sturdy and the locking mechanism easy to use and reliable. What I don't like is the hand strap is not reliable and on the very first use I dropped the monopod on the garage floor with the hand strap still in my hand. I found no way to keep the hand strap from slipping no matter what I do. I liked the addition of the little tool to make adjustments to the locking clamps if needed but found it missing when I arrived at my destination. The hand strap issue needs to be corrected.

This is the first monopod I have owned and I was impressed by it's ease of use and the stability. The whole thing collapses down to about 24 inches and is easy to store. I pair this with a quick release swivel head mount and used both to shoot a wedding. I was able to shoot horizontal and veritcal shots switching back and forth with east. I would have like to have gotten a canvas carrying case for it that could be thrown over your shoulder for easier portability. All in all very pleased.Digital camera Review: Monopod

I purchase the 680B for the small size when folded up (only 20 inches)and only 3 clips to lock in when extending, which makes putting it together and having it ready for use in a short amount of time. The quality is excellent and would highly recommend this. Also purchase the 234RC head with the quick release, the combo works great together.
