Digital camera Review: Fits Very Snugly in Outlet, But Doesn't Work!

Summary: We drive a 1998 Honda CRV and we were trying to power two DVD players from the front cigarette lighter. Didn't work for us, disappointed.
Didn't think it actually fit at first, but we got the adapter into our outlet with some effort. Unfortunately, it didn't work when trying to power two different DVD players. I don't know if it's just too much for the system or what -- but I would have the first DVD player up and running and when I plugged in the second DVD player the first would stop working and the second wouldn't work at all.

I recommend this adapter. This is a very good adapter at a very nice price with a few nice features:
1. Adjustable position is very useful. I think there are five or six different settings from a 90 degree angle to 180.
2. The plug covers keep out a majority of dust when not in use.
3. There is an LED or lamp under the fuse that glows when the adapter is plugged in and operating. If the fuse blows, the lamp extinguishes to let you know another fuse is needed. Very nice feature.
Only one minor negative, which I overlooked when I first purchased the adapter...it is only rated and fused for 3 amps. Most other twin adapters are rated for 5 amps. Just be careful with what you use. I plugged in an MP3 FM transmitter and my laptop at the same time and it blew the fuse. 3 amp fuses are not as widely available as other fuses. I purchased mine from an auto parts store.

Before I received the adapter I was concerned that an adapter like this wouldn't find in my car. My gear shift is directly behind the outlet so any significant extension would block my shift capabilities. The adjustable angle is great, it barely sticks out of my console and fits great in my car. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is in a similar situation.
