Digital camera Review: A good deal gone right!

I was never a fan of Memorex's, even back in the early eighties when their cassette tapes were dominating the ad slot with its "Is it live, or is it Memorex?" slogan. I bought some Memorex CD-Rs a couple of years ago and it was the worst optical media I have use and wasted my money on to date. I sworn not to ever use the brand again....until now. I recently bought 2x50PK (100) of these 16X DVD-Rs since they were dirt cheap. How can you go wrong for spending merely $20 for it, you just can't! It paid off so far because I haven't encounter one bad burn with these DVDs, not only that; the finalized discs played fine on all of my players. At the moment I'm thinking "Is it Memorex, or is it something else"? They're not only good deals especially for 16X rated, but they're also great discs.

I've been using Memorex DVD-R for almost a year now and I should say this product is awesome! I never had a bad DVD, unlike other blank DVD which I usually get error during write or sometimes won't play on my Toshiba player. I have an HP DVD writer. It cost a little more compared to other brands but since I'm not wasting any of it due to bad write, it actually ended being cheaper. And with this price from Amazon...it makes it even better.
I am completely satisfied with this product!

About half of the disks on the spindle have a flaw around the outer edge--it looks like a circular scratch. It isn't a huge problem because I look for the scratches and only use those disks if I don't need all the space on them, but they shouldn't be there. My HP Pavilion a1210n allegedly has an HP DVD Writer 740b, and I've updated it with the latest firmware, which allegedly recognizes all sorts of 16 speed media.
Despite this, the drive is unable to even recognize these Memorex 16x DVD-R discs. I hope the store where I bought these will take them back, because they are absolutely worthless to me.
Digital camera Review: Almost half of the 100 defective

Usually I have very little problems with Memorex blanks & have only a few defects, but this last batch is a different story. Out of 100 blanks, over 40 of them were visibly defective (the dye has long grooves or missing patches in it) & even more just didn't work. I'm in need of more blanks now, thanks to the fact that almost half of this batch don't work, & I will definitely be looking for a different brand. I will never buy Memorex products again.
