Digital camera reviews of Memorex 700MB/80-Minute 52x Data CD-R Media (50-Pack Spindle)Digital camera Review: 47 out of 50 burnt OK Summary: 4 Stars
The other 3 were duds. Impressed with this ratio, especially since it's 10 bucks a spindle.
A number of the discs have been sent around the world and used in presentations 20+ times. None have stopped working despite mild surface scratching.
There's not really much else to say about a spindle of CD's, to be fair.
Digital camera Review: 52x Memorex CD-R Bad Summary: 1 Stars
I've used Memorex tapes about 10 years ago and they worked very well as I recall, so when I saw this 50p. 52x CD-R package for such a cheap deal I just had to buy. Needless to say, I am seriously dissapointed, I couldn't get the CD's to record properly, even trying a few different things such as recording on 4x write speed or testing to see if iTunes would record better than Nero or perhaps copying a different audio CD, and etc, but about 7 out of 7 that I recorded on just couldn't be played on anything at all. I think the problem is that the CD's in this particular batch are too transparent and the laser is probably shooting right on through instead of burning the pits or something. Whatever it is, this is seriously dissapointing, I expected much more from Memorex.
Digital camera Review: A good medium to store your data. Summary: 4 Stars
One day soon, the CD-R's will be obsolete. With the advent of larger USB sticks and DVD burning almost to an exact science, the usefulness of these is coming to an end.
Digital camera Review: Absolutely horrible, extremely error prone. Summary: 1 Stars
I bought these CDs to do weekly backups of my data. However, almost every time I burn one, it has errors on it. Today I wasted three CDs trying to get one good backup. This product is awful...avoid at all costs!
Digital camera Review: Ain't Nothin' Wrong With These Things Summary: 5 Stars
I use these primarily to record music compilations from my CD collection... I originally intended to use them in the car during long trips. I was very please and surprised to find that they sound teriffic on my high end stereo rig as well... giving up only the smallest amount of resolution and detail...losses that only an audio nut like myself would detect.
