This case has nice padding without being too bulky. I got this because it has handles that are not padded so they can be easily folded down to tuck into duffle or suitcase. Without handles, I would not feel as secure in handling the case in general. Traveling with it was very convenient because the two zipper pulls enable the case to be open half-way down either sides, which is the maximum. The laptop (mine is 15.5") can be easily taken out & put back into the case after airport security check. No need to remove the case from the suitcase.
The only caveat is that there is not much room for the cords, bulky transformer, mouse, CDs, etc. You could squeeze them in but it is tight and I just would not for fear that it might damage the computer. Just encase them separately in a pouch or large makeup bag. It seems to fit better in a suitcase that way too (separate cases).
And the case looks exactly as it is pictured -- no frills, no design. But then I don't want to particularly attract any attention to my laptop either. Very happy with my purchase. And a great price.

This is a nice bag overall, except... the edges are the weak point. There is no protection around the edges, where the laptop will take the most abuse. Also I bought this for a 15.6" laptop, and its too snug so I have to return it. I thought, what can .2 mean? Apparently it means a lot, at least in this case. Also IMO, buy a bag with a shoulder strap, or at least one that can accomodate a shoulder strap. decent bag though.
