Digital camera reviews of Microsoft Arc Mouse - BlackDigital camera Review: Best compact full-sized mouse so far... Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this mouse in Australia and have been using it every day (heavy duty) for over a year. Feels great in my hand, works like a champ, folds for great reduction in size, and looks good. Keeping it closed when not in use really helps the battery life. I will definitely buy more in the future!
Update: I am going on two years with the Arc Mouse. It is very durable and the tracking, clicking and battery life are great. The new Arc is curved when on, and off when flat (and very cool looking). I was going to buy one, but the right/left click buttons feel harder to push and the edge of the mouse seems to get in the way of clicking the buttons. So this week I am ordering another original Arc Mouse for my other computer.
Digital camera Review: Best of Both Worlds Summary: 5 Stars
This mouse is outstanding. I purchased mine a few months ago and have had no problems with it. The biggest reason why I like this mouse so much is that it folds to be the size of a regular portable mouse (which is great for portability, but very uncomfortable for those like me with large hands) and it unfolds to be the same size as a regular mouse. It is very comfortable to use and works on every surface I've tried it on. I use it on my bed and the arms of my furniture all the time with no problems at all.
This mouse is by far the best mouse I've ever owned and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Digital camera Review: Best of Breed Summary: 5 Stars
I bought mine in December 2008 and since then I have used it every day, for anything up to 14 hours (average probably 6 - 8 hours a day). The mouse is as good as the day I first unboxed it. Prior to buying this mouse, I had gone through a dozen or so others from Logitech, Kensington, Saitek, Razer and Razorfish. Some were good, others not so much, but they all had one or two little foibles - things like poor battery life, poor tracking on some surfaces, poor reception or just plain uncomfortable. The Arc mouse does everything very, very well and involves fewer compromises than any other mouse I've owned.
The design is not only striking, but strikingly beautiful. It really looks like the kind of tech you expect from Apple (except, unlike Apple, the Arc Mouse has function to match it's form), which is interesting because I would say the same of a number of other recent Microsoft products like ZuneHD and especially WindozePhone 7.
Build quality is first-rate and it comes with a suede pouch to make it a truly premium purchase. The receiver is held in place firmly by a magnet and with the arc folded it is never going to fall out. It works beautifully, tracking smoothly on most surfaces. It is extremely comfortable, even after hours of use. Folded up, it is smaller than any other mouse I've owned yet when you open it out it is as big as a desktop mouse in your hand, making it the perfect portable mouse that you can use at your desk all day, too.
As I said, I use mine probably 6 to 8 hours a day, every day, and it is plugged into my PC 24/7. Two alkaline batteries last around 3 or 4 months, which is better than any other wireless mouse I've owned.
I am hesitant to award any device 5 stars but when I went through the individual attribute ratings, I couldn't see any way to give the Arc Mouse any less. It really is as close to perfect as any mouse can get, except maybe for the new ArcTouch mouse.
Digital camera Review: Better than others Summary: 4 Stars
I got this mouse because it looked good and I had wanted a mouse that fit my massive hand for my laptop. It works perfectly for that. The biggest problem with it is that I do not always carry a mouse pad around with me and the mouse will be non-responsive on a lot of the surfaces that I use.
Other than that, it's a great product, much better than the older Microsoft mouse I had.
Digital camera Review: Bought two this year... Track wheel is junk. Summary: 2 Stars
Love the design. Very compact. But, I bought two this year... Track wheel is junk. 1st one locked in scroll mode. 2nd one no longer scrolls when I move the wheel. Fault is the design and life of the track wheel. Maybe has something to do with no hard case comes with the mouse and wheel gets depressed in tow, or just junk. I won't be buying another, but sending this back to Mr Softie.
