Digital camera reviews of Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

Digital camera Review: An Unsatisfying Tactile Experience
Summary: 3 Stars

From a technical perspective, this wireless bluetooth mouse is excellent. It's also very portable with its small size. After a few months of using this mouse, I have to admit there are a few annoyances.

First, when the mouse powers down after certain amount of inactivity, it takes 20+ seconds to power back up. Sometimes, you have to turn the power switch off and then back. I wish it responded more quickly.

Second, the mouse does not provide the kind of tactile experience I've come to expect. I don't like the feel of the buttons. For instance, when I double click, there is no clicking sound - no tactile feedback letting me know I clicked the mouse properly. There is only visual feedback on the screen.

Digital camera Review: Annoying on a 2009 Macbook Pro
Summary: 2 Stars

1. Battery life - poor to fair
2. connectivity - drops the wireless connection without warning enough to be irritating and it can takes a witch doctor's gesticulations to regain it.
3. cursor precision - usually good but it will jump clear across the screen at times. Granted it is hard to tell what the problem here is; is it an error in the mouse tracking? a bug in the communication messaging to the laptop? Who knows?
4. ergonomics - it is tiny in my medium/large paws. I have to hold it with my fingertips, no resting your palm on the mouse. Great for portability but a nuisance to actually use and it makes my arm/wrist sore. As others have noted, the scroll wheel has too much friction in the rotation mechanism which one can overcome by laying ones finger flat on the wheel to get the most skin/wheel contact and then gently moving it.

There has got to a be a better bluetooth mouse than this one. I also used the Rocketfish bluetooth mouse but it too had problems (why I exchanged that one for this one). I think I might be going back for another exchange!

Digital camera Review: As Advertised, A little small for my hands
Summary: 4 Stars

Its a mobile mouse, remember that, Its a little small to use all day every day as a software developer but works great for home use, web surfing.

Pairs a little slow but works great.

Digital camera Review: As advertised
Summary: 5 Stars

It does exactly what a wireless bluetooth mouse is supposed to do and that's really all you can ask. It's inexpensive as well, no need to spend more than this on a bluetooth mouse for general use.

Digital camera Review: Average mouse microsoft nightmare
Summary: 2 Stars

The mouse is just "average" for the "discounted" price. The mouse is not supported by Microsoft's native mouse software to re-configure the 4th button. It's just because M$ is too stupid to write a usable blue-tooth filter.

Sometimes it refuses to connect with my T61's blue-tooth while other blue-tooth things e.g. headset, apple's keyboard worked well. Just showing sth. you'd expect from microsoft--never deliver you a satisfying thing.

Rated 2, not a good deal.

Update :'this one is very microsoft-ly, lost connection without any reason and cannot re-connect unless restarting computer while other bt things works well e.g. apple keyboard, a2dp headset. Must be M$'s problem. Shame on M$, Don't buy it!
