Just recieved the camera in the mail and installed it on an XP professional computer where the operating system was just installed. The picture quality was grainy a little even after I focused it. I created a video to test it and the sound did not match up with my mouth either. Granted, it is a decent camera for the price so you will not go wrong. The computer may be of fault with the video because it is a 1 GIG processor with 663 MB memory. All and all I recommend it because of what I paid for itDigital camera Review: Far from "crystal clear"

I purchased this cam as a compromise over the Logitech C600 which is much more expensive. This is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for". The description of the image quality touts "crystal clarity". Nope. The second I fired this thing up what I got was a blurry soft focus image with no ability to sharpen it outside of the "sharpen" feature in the UI which simply allows pixel crunching like in photoshop. I guess the short story is that I'm disappointed. I will be returning this as soon as possible and dropping the extra bucks on the C600 as soon as I can.Digital camera Review: works great!

I have a logitech webcam myself that was around $80, and I love that.
However, for Christmas I wanted to get my Mom, Dad, and my Brother webcams also so we could all communicate that way. My brother lives across the country and so we never really see him, his wife, or his daughter. Since I was buying 3 of them, I couldn't afford to buy 3 $80 cameras, so instead I bought 3 $20 cameras.
I'm pretty happy with my purchase, because of the price. The picture quality is a little fuzzy, but I may be able to change the resolution or something, I didn't really play with it much. It's not terrible, but you just notice a little fuzz. You can still see everything clearly... but you will notice some 'fuzz' or 'static' - if that makes sense.
It's fine for picture chatting but that's really it. If you're looking for a GREAT webcam, this is not it. If you're looking for a good cheap webcam, this is it.
They have a couple fun effects you can put on, like I put a rabbits nose & ears on my Mom and she got a kick out of it. That'd be fun for kids I'm sure if they're going to be video chatting at all with family.
For $20, it's a good camera. I'm satisfied with it because I know they will all probably only get used once a month or so. If you plan on using it daily or even weekly, maybe you should invest in a better one?
I really love my logitech, but as I said, it was about $80 and I was not willing to spend that much for something that they will probably use very little.
Installation was very easy... just put the disc in, let it install, and that's it.
The stand is nice because you can set it on your desk... But it would probably not be good for a laptop. My Mom has a laptop and the thing would stay on, but would be pointed at my chest instead of my face. Maybe that's what you want... but definitely not what I want hahaha. I tried turning it all which ways but just couldn't get it to point at my face when it was mounted on the laptop - so we just set it on the desk. Fine for us, maybe not for other people?
Overall, I'd give it 3 stars, but because it was only $20 I'm giving it 4.

I bought the vx-3000 and I love it!. I decided to get one for my daughter who lives in Mexico. No problem, I thought. Well, it says on the bar code box that it can only be used in the U.S. & Canada. Hmmm...I asked three employees at the Best Buy in town and they all assured me that it would work fine. I was still apprehensive, so I called Microsoft and they said "Absolutely Not"! So, I am glad I did not purchase these online and have to return one..
