Digital camera Review: Beware the dot

I have 3 different webcams and picture quality of this cam is very good. It can capture very smooth 30 FPS video with 640x480 resolution which my other webcams can't seem to do as well as this unit. Color can be adjusted to be vibrant, and it also works well in low light. The option to choose indoor or outdoor is excellent.
The biggest problem I have is there is a dot on the capture which looks like a bad pixel on LCD screen. Cleaning of the lense does not help this, so it seems to be internal defect. The first one of these I had had the dot showing on off center to the upper right. I exchanged the unit through Amazon, and the second one again had this dot but this time on lower right. So this defect seems to be a common problem with this product.

Two months ago I purchased two of the Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000's when my son and his family moved 3000 miles away! One for myself and one for them. My Grandson is only 10 months old and I was heartbroken when they moved that I would not be able to be a part of his life. This camera changed all that! My son has given me a 'tour' of his apartment via his web cam...I play games with the baby and can watch him develop! Is it as good as being there? No. But it'll do in a pinch! The Microsoft LifeCam VX is EASY to install and use. A total non-computer person can do it, and except for problems with Internet Explorer kicking me off from time to time I have never had a problem using the Web Cam itself. I am now webcamming with friends all over the world using MSN Messenger, which is free!
The product itself is VERY mobile! It mounts onto the computer easily and then just plugs into your USB port!If you have a laptop you can take it anywhere!

I bought this camera for my new computer but couldn't get it to work. It wasn't the cam, it was my computer. But before I swapped out the computer, I was suckered into getting a pricier cam guaranteeing me it would work. To make a long story short, I don't use this cam that much but when I do, it works just fine. It's a good little cam.
