I have Windows Vista and needed a webcam to keep in touch with family on the other side of the country. I bought this webcam because of the promise of Vista compatability. There was no problem there. The setup was easy. However, I'm really disappointed with the video quality. It's very blurry. I use MSN Messenger (which is what it was actually designed for) and the people I'm webcamming have a difficult time even reading what's written on my shirt or other basic details. Overall, this is fine for basic communicating, but you'll want something different if you're serious about it.Digital camera Review: Deeply Disappointed in Audio/Terrible buzzing

I checked the reviews on this cam before purchase and they were mostly good. Even here at Amazon the majority like this cam, at ItelliReview this cam is rated number 1 so I thought for under $20 this is a great deal. I saw a video on Youtube of the cam and the picture looked great. The picture is acceptable ... not as good a picture in the Youtube video ... It's not as good as my brother logitech cam or my mother's hercules cam. But they cost more. There is this terrible buzzing noise from the mic. Nothing I did would stop it. I'm sending it back to the store ... they say they will replace it, if in stock or refund my money if out of stock ... now that I see all these bad reviews about the sound, I'm hoping they are out of stock. If not maybe I will get lucky and get a good one that's like the ones people got that gave a good review.
I had no trouble installing it with win XP pro and win 7 ultimate. If not for the constant buzzing from the mic and the low voice sound I would be happy with this cam, but because of that I can't recommend this cam. If you do get it make sure the mic works with out the buzzing.

This product did not live up to the advertised hype. I installed it on a laptop and the picture was poor quality. I then installed it on a desk top with the same results. One using Windows Vista and the other using Windows XP Pro.
I expedted a great deal more from Microsoft.

I bought three of these cameras and the audio stopped working a week, the other two shortly. All of them stopped working the microphone. I do not recommend. Do not buy this camera!
