Don't waste your money on a cheap mouse. This mouse is ultra-reliable, works with everything, no drivers needed. As a computer tech I need reliable equipment which will always work, no matter what the system is. Nothing fancy here, two buttons (three if you count the scroll-wheel), smooth scroll wheel, optical tracking. You get a little more functionality and customzation by loading the drivers, but this works perfectly on XP and newer (possibly earlier) Mac OS9, OSX 10.0 and newer, Linux, and lots more. After looking in computer stores, computer manu. web sites, I took a chance and went with this mouse from here....Didn't want to spend much, have a lot of kids using it, so I took a chance! This mouse was inexpensive and looks & feels that way. I don't like the wheel. It's noisy and clunky and does not spin smoothly. Also, the mouse is just too big for my hand. It's like trying to steer a brick around on my desk.
I don't like it. I'm going back to my tiny Targus travel-size optical mouse until I find one I like better.

Bought 3 to replace my old Logitech optical mouse which broke after 3 yrs of daily use, and to replace my wife's old mechanical ball mouse which was giving her a lot of trouble. I had used Microsoft mice before at work with good experience, so bought these from Amazon on sale. These new mice all installed with no problem, they track well and the wheel works fine. Wife loves it. These are not fancy, but work well and have everything most people need for a low price. Good value.
