I already owned one of these radios for a few years. Had to replace it after my cat knocked it down a flight of stairs. If your someone who does not leave the radio or TV on a lot to get current forecasts, then this device will bring you emergency broadcasts of severe weather in your vicinity several minutes before you have to take action.Digital camera Review: A Gotta Have!

I received a Amazon.gift card for Mother's Day and thought what should I get with it. After much thought, I came up with the idea of this Weather Alert radio which I had been thinking about for quite some time. Since I live in the Midwest, this radio was very important to me. Well, let me tell you, it is a MUST have. It works perfectly. We, here in Wisconsin, just went through a terrific weather system for the last five days with lots of alerts and warnings. This raido never failed to alert us. I would highly recommend this to everyone one. It is one of the BEST Mother Day gifts I have gotten. Love it!Digital camera Review: A Great Product!

After procrastinating for several years, I finally broke down and bought this weather radio in April. Then on May 1, the catastrophic rains and flood hit Nashville and Middle Tennessee. The warnings provided by the radio were very welcome. Everyone needs this radio especially at night when they are sleeping and may not hear other warnings such as sirens or TV weather warnings.Digital camera Review: A Great Safety Investment

I was born and raised in Charleston, SC so I know the importance of having a dependable weather radio in my home. I have had a few as a matter of fact, and the Midland WR-100B is by far the best one that I have purchased so far.
I work for a grocery store chain in SC and our store began offering the WR-100 at a discounted price as a service to our customers at the beginning of hurricane/tornado season. I have programmed dozens of WR-100's for customers and I found the procedure to be easy and straightforward. It even has an alarm clock.
I purchased one for my home and several for family members as gifts. My wife finds it useful as well. She gets the daily forecast from the radio before she leaves for work in the morning. The alarm is loud (90db) and can be heard at the other end of the house. Reception of the local NOAA station is crystal clear because of digital tuning (no signal drift as is common with knob-tuned radios). The different colored warning lights are also useful because they allow you to determine the importance of alert broadcasts. You can buy a fancier and more expensive weather alert radio, but in my opinion, not a better one.
