I sell book lights. I have been in the electronic gadget business for nearly 40 years. This is a wonderful, traditional book light. It is the only book light that I have used in a fully bright, day lit room. It is very well constructed, easy to set for optimum light control and the light volume is great. The LED lights are the way of the future and they are used wonderfully well in this product. I have been through 3 novels on one set of batteries, and still no loss of brilliance. This is a very well made light.
I still have not found a light that does not wake my wife late at night. I think that will require a tent like structure. In the meanwhile, this is the best book light I have ever owned or sold.

This light works amazingly well, is very bright, and has long battery life. The leds provide full coverage, without any "dark spots" on your book. This light also clips onto the amazon kindle cover; this also works great. It is padded (the clip) and I have no fear that this will damage my cover. I bought this light for my daughter, who I frequently catch with a book and a flashlight under her covers after bed time. I tried it out myself (in the dark) and can report that it has a lot of good attributes that are perfect for light-assisted reading.
- It is light-weight, but does not feel fragile.
- The batteries are common and are easy to change.
- The spring clamp holds tightly to a group of pages. It doesn't fall off or slide when turned upside-down.
- The wire neck also holds its position perfectly. It's very easy to adjust and stays precisely in place.
- The two-setting light is bright (on both settings) and a clean white color.
My two suggestions for improvement would be, first, to have a third LED in the head that is not a super LED and would put out less light. My eyes can adapt very well to the dark and both of the current settings are more than enough. And second, to increase the lever portion of the spring clamp a little so it is easier to de-clamp from the book. It has an odd feel since the lever end is almost right over the hinge/fulcrum.
Neither of these things are enough to detract from the fact that this is an excellent product and deserves a five star rating.
