It works.
Heavier than I expected. Base itself is pretty big. 3 AAA batteries. LEDs are actually too bright, if I have it directly on my (new) Kindle Wifi, there's a bit of glare, have to angle it so it is off to the side.

I have used a few other cheap book lights previously but never found them particularly convenient. This book light is really very nice. While it is a bit pricey for a book light it is definitely worth the price. It is easy to attach, stays out of the way, and stays put even when used on a book. I especially like the 2 intensity levels. The swithc is very easy to use effectively...very ergonomic. PROS
-- The light itself is very bright, and I appreciate it has two levels
-- The neck can be repositioned easily
CONS
-- The light does not grip very well, and the grip is too big for the 3rd generation Kindle (the 6" model). Therefore it is hard to find a place on the Kindle to place the light without it falling off. The best position I have found is at the top center, slightly covering up the screen.
-- The light is fairly heavy compared to the overall weight of the 3rd generation Kindle
One key point is this light was not specifically designed for the 3rd Generation Kindle. The light it creates is great, but I will look for a different light that grips better, is smaller, lighter weight, but with the same lighting power (what I am searching for my not exist).

When I bought a Kindle for my wife, I thought this type of light might be neat as an accompanying gift. The Kindle and this light go together! The quality of construction is very good, and the neck can be twisted in various directions to position the light so it doesn't produce glare on the screen. The clip is a bit bulky, but it holds the light firmly. (I am assuming that this light will be clipped on to a Kindle case. Without the case, I couldn't recommend this light.)
The two LED lights are great. If there is any room lighting on the Kindle, then one LED seems sufficient. In a dark room, two are needed. The bulbs are cool to the touch, and so far the batteries have not needed to be replaced after several hours use. This is a well-designed light and we have no regrets buying it at this good price.
