This little light shines bright. Can't use it as a flash light, but it is great for the Kindle. Plenty of light (in both meanings) and is light enough not to be a bother when reading. I think this light is fantastic. 2 settings for brightness, which is good if you need to dial it down a little next to a light-sensitive person next to you in bed. It casts a wide lighting area so that the whole kindle screen is lit up to read all at once. It is miles better than old freebie clip-on lights I used to use for books which only lit up smallish areas of an open book adequately enough for reading. Clip holds firm and is padded on the insides to prevent scratching. The only downside is that it's not really small enough to fit inside my Patagonia kindle case to take with me. It's not the end of the world and I can just carry it separately in the same briefcase or napsack.Digital camera Review: A must for your Kindle!

Those who know Mighty Bright lights from book light reading know why they are the best. Their lights are consistently fantastic and this light for the Kindle 2 and DX is no different. The clip has padding on both top and bottom of the clip. This is different from my XtraFlex2 from the book store I bought. I personally think that it is plenty bright with one LED but I can use both LED's if I need more light. I love the convienence of the battery change. 3AAA batteries are easy to replace and are not heavy as some have mentioned. I have found that I get about 45 hours of "bright light" using 1 LED (LED goes dim as it looses power, LED does not burn out and last virtually forever unlike incandescent light bulbs). I like using the AC adapter which is offered on their web site for reading in bed where I don't need to use batteries. Using the Mighty Bright allows my wife to sleep while not having the bedside lamp on.
I highly recommend this light to use along with the Amazon cover or clip directly on the Kindle. Do not clip on screen but rather the outside rim. Padding keeps it secure without scratching or slipping!
One small draw back. Would like to see one in white. Can't wait for the next MIGHTY BRIGHT product.
