Digital camera reviews of Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light (Kindle Version) BlackDigital camera Review: Amazing Product Summary: 5 Stars
Love this Kindle light. Easy to use. This light has 2 brightness settings which makes this perfect for every situation. (Works great for reading in bed next to a sleeping spouse without disturbing them.) It has a light radius that is large enough to use with regular hardback books as well. The neck of the lamp is very flexible so you don't have to worry about accidentally breaking off the head while bending it to achieve your preferred lighting angle. Before I bought this lamp I read some of the other reviews that said it wasn't very compatible with the Kindle so they weren't sure why it was listed as a Kindle lamp. I personally think it works great with my Kindle. Granted, I clip mine to my Kindle case; but I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to clip it directly to your kindle if need be. If you're looking for a versatile reading lamp and you don't want to spend a lot then this is the one for you.
Digital camera Review: At last! Summary: 4 Stars
I've been looking for a good portable reading light for years and own several that are all inadequate one way or another. This one may be what I've been looking for. So far, so good.
Digital camera Review: At least the packaging is frustration free Summary: 3 Stars
Like many reviewers i feel the product is over priced. Open up the " frustration free" packaging only to get frustrated because I can't find any instructions in the box. Poke around find the battery compartment and figure out how to open it. The instructions are packed in the battery compartment. Needs (3) triple A's -not included. Turns out their is an optional AC adaptor but not interested. Go to store to get the triple A's. Thing's pretty good but nothing special. I can see where the switch might cause some problems especially if you travel. For the price they could have thrown in the batteries or made it clear that they were not included when one bought it . Oh Well, at least the packaging was "frustration free"
Digital camera Review: Awesome Book/Task Light Summary: 5 Stars
I bought a few other cheap book lights when I got my Kindle and am so happy I finally sprung for the Mighty Bright. It's well constructed, it doesn't feel like one tumble off the bed and you'll be back at the store. I was surprised just how flexible the neck was. You really can get it into just about any position you may need it.
The brightness difference between high and low really is negligible for me at such a close distance, but if you're using it as a task light and not just for reading, maybe it will make a difference. It's bright enough, but at the same time it's not blinding for late night use.
The clip thankfully has padding so you won't scratch your kindle. I would ask for a bit more ergonomic clip in future builds, though. Where I put my thumb could use a slight curve to hold your thumb in place so it doesn't slide off the back.
I can't speak for the battery life because I haven't had to change them yet (but I guess that does speak to the battery life!)
Digital camera Review: BRIGHT, but heavy. Summary: 4 Stars
I went through quite a few book lights until I broke down and ordered this one. It is by far the brightest light I've found (it has 2 settings, I always use it on the lowest.) The only drawback is that it's heavy, it weighs my kindle down so sometimes I have to prop the reader+light against something instead of holding it in one hand. I was concerned that it required batteries, but after using it nearly every night for over an hour for a month, the batteries have yet to show signs of being low.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this light. The length of it allows you to contort it into all sorts of positions, which I sometimes use as a counter-weight.
