Digital camera Review: Best book light I ever bought

I'd recommend this to anyone who works late at home and doesn't have a separate office. The coverage is great. I use it to illuminate my laptop keyboard as I'm resting on the couch or in bed and it doesn't disturb my husband. It's great for books, hardcover and soft, as well as typed manuscript pages. I'm an editor and do a lot of late night reading.
I've gone through a lot of book lights, some too dim, some with not enough coverage, or the batteries or bulbs die quickly. I've only had this for a short period of time but would buy another in a heartbeat.

I purchased this light for use with my Kindle and have been extremely pleased. The two-way switch offering using of one or both bulbs give good light control for varying reading areas. The clip is rather thick and heavy, so this light does not work well on a paperback. The clip strength is firm, so I don't have a problem with it slipping when clipped on my Kindle. The light and cable fold down to the side for travel/storage; however, the bulk of the clip still makes a thick package. I cannot fault the construction of the clip as it holds firmly and is not flimsy. I would buy it again.Digital camera Review: Best book light for inveterate night owl readers

The XtraFlex2 LED book light is light years (no pun intended) better than the old itty-bitty-type lights that used incandescent bulbs.
The XtraFlex2 gets great battery life, unlike the the itty-bittys, which I found went through batteries like crazy. Of course, the LED "bulbs" don't burn out like the itty-bitty blubs (and the XtraFlex2 doesn't heat up from its bulbs, either). The XtraFlex2's integrated battery pack is also great; no getting tangled up in a cord while you're in bed.
I stumbled on the XtraFlex2 at my local Borders. They had a bunch of them in a display when the final Harry Potter book was published (presumably figuring that a lot of kids, little and big, were going to be doing a lot of reading in bed...). The leftovers were sold at half price, a real bargain. I bought one, tried it out, loved it, and went back to buy several more for use as gifts (and spares).

I bought this light for myself and loved it so much, I bought it for the rest of the family. It is the best reading light I have ever used. I used to go through at least 4 or 5 lights a year, but this one has really lasted.
