Digital camera reviews of Monster Cable MP HTS 1000 PowerCenter with Clean Power Stage 2 (v.2.0)

Digital camera Review: I know it works!
Summary: 4 Stars

I recently had a noticable spike in our power that woke up my whole family. All our cable boxes went bananas except for the one I had hooked up. I have a Westinghouse LCD and the picture is a little clearer now. But I can't give it a full 5 rating only because I still don't think the price tag justifies its functionality. However, I promise you that if you buy it from amazon you will pay less!!! Best buy has this same product for 179.99 plus Taxes. Amazon had it for 102 w/free shipping. And with prime, I got it in two days. Just this purchase made the prime membership worth it. Getting stuff in two days is cool. and i didn't pay california sales taxes. sweeeet

Digital camera Review: Impressed
Summary: 5 Stars

I was skeptical that this product would work, but it did make a noticeable difference in my picture of my Samsung 42" plasma. Not only do I no longer see the noise that I did when the fridge or dryer was running, but the contrast and clarity have improved.

Digital camera Review: It really does work!
Summary: 4 Stars

First, I can't comment on the HDTV and Satellite issues mentioned by other reviewers so I would check that out before buying. But with that being said this was a great purchase for me. And I highly recommend it.

I have been looking at fuzzy text and faint, slow moving horizontal ghosts on my Sony Trinitron TV for a while now. My Xbox connection is composite, my DVD is S-Video, my Cox cable is...well cable. For the most part I figured the poor visuals were due to the TV being low quality and the connection method. But now I know better! Let me give a brief example...

A few months ago I borrowed the S-video connector for the Xbox so I could see what the quality would look like. Of course the S-video on the Xbox rendered an image that was at least 50% better quality than the composite. That is what I would expect. I gave it back and resolved to get one later.

Last week I got the HTS-1000 and hooked up all my equipment. When I fired up the Xbox (hooked up via composite) the picture quality was about the same as it was when I hooked up the S-video. Even my wife, who thinks I am what too critical about such things, noticed the difference. She told me that she didn't expect to see a difference. She doesn't notice subtle quality in audio and video, but was surprised that she saw such a marked difference.

The cable TV is clearer, the DVD has more vivid colors...some of the improvement is hard to describe other than just saying the picture is soooo much better.

I will say this though, my home is small. The kitchen, with its high power drawing appliances, is close to the living room. All these appliances contribute to the dirty power. You could see less improvement if your home is laid out differently or have newer appliances.

I didn't give it 5 stars because it is bulky. It has plenty of room for power bricks, but it has a high profile. The strip that Monster sells that has a slim profile doesn't have room for bricks. Also, the schema for what devices are switched and what aren't doesn't make sense to me, but it is nice to have 4 outlets that are constant power.

Summary: If you have lines, ghosts, poor color, whatever...try this out it could make a world of difference.

Digital camera Review: MONSTER warranty
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought the hts 1000 mk11 over 4 years ago when i bought a new 42 inch panasonic plasma tv. i was primarily looking for surge protection and although it seemed very pricey i fonund it pretty cheap on one of the internet sites.I'm not preoccupied with small improvements in picture quality, sound etc and since i never used the tv i bought without the Monster system, I cant say what it has done for picture, sound etc. From the beginning the TV, Time Warner cable and DVR and my DVD player have worked fine.Last month the Monster started making a slight buzzing sound which, in subsequent weeks became louder and more persistent. I emailed the MONSTER company about it and fortunately had kept my paperwork for the system when i bought it. Apparently the length of the warranty isnt always the same and they tell you to look at the paperwork you have to determine how long your warranty was.In my case it turned out I have a 5 year warranty on this product and, since I have only had it for 4 plus years, MONSTER told me it would have to be replaced as the unit had taken an excessive surge which was the reason for the noise. They sent me an authorization number to return it which i am in the process of doing.Only problem is that i have to pay the shipping from South Carolina to California. Still i was impressed by how Monster handled my inquiry and the quickness of their response. I have noted other reviews which talked about the rigorous requirements of getting repairs or replacement to any of the equipment you have hooked up to the MONSTER,and that sounds much tougher to collect on, however, having been in a business which dealt with warranty claims on electronics, I can empathize because a lot of people either unknowingly or intentionally try to collect for equipment failures which are not supported by the facts. Overall, Im happy with Monster's handling of my claim.

Digital camera Review: Monster Cable MP HTS 1000 Power Center
Summary: 4 Stars

The only shortcoming to this unit is plug spacing which hampers connecting wall-mount-type power supplies. The unit is one of those great "put it in & forget about it" parts that are vital to the overall success of a modest home theater installation.
