Digital camera Review: Monster 2600 MKII
Summary: 5 Stars

Overall a very good product to protect your home entertainment components. You may want to consider the model above the 2600 as it has a digital video filter on the power supply for the HDTV (not sure what difference, if any, a digital video filter would make for the HDTV). Labels are convenient for future plugging and unplugging. Arrived on time and packaged properly. No issues.

Digital camera Review: Monster HTS 2600 MKII PowerCenter
Summary: 5 Stars

Great Product. Works and looks great. A welcome addition to my set up. If the AV receiver is the brains then this is the central nervous system. And I don't have to be nervous about nasty power surges, spikes, lightening storms, power outages, etc. The Monster 2600 provides a feeling of security for my costly Home Theatre gear. I know there are other alternatives out there, but for me I am very glad I made this purchase and would highly recommend this product.

Digital camera Review: Nice Surge, but don't expect miracles
Summary: 4 Stars

THis is a decent surge protector, but don't expect it to turn sd to hd - remember this is under 2hund bucks. Koo koo la is either a cynic or a monster brand competitor. How much did you pay for your "audiophile" system??? Son, my master bedroom's HT cost at least 3-4 times that, course you probably still shop at worst buy for your gear. I would take old kookoo's expert review with a grain of salt. When buying a component like this for your system you need to devise a list in your head (kookoo you better write this down though). Why do you think you need this, what are you trying to prevent, and how much do you have invested in your setup. Because afterall, this is sort of like an insurance policy for your gear. Rule of thumb, you probably don't want to spend more than 5-7% of the entire cost of your (ac powered) HT components (don't count labor koo). Features beneficial to upper echelon system's (koo go ahead and skip down a few lines) would include the basics like line filtering and surge, but you may want voltage regulation or twin transformers (for digital and analog). And if you live in a area with dirty power, lightning, etc these are invaluable. Look, i've dumped literally thousands of dollars on stupid monster products, and I wish they were a gimmick. But i don't really want to take chances with expensive equipment. Lastly, i would like to note that monsters stuff is amazingly durable and does what it says it will in under the most extreme conditions. Example: i've got an old 2500 stage two power strip out in the garage connecting up my laptop and 46" samsung (yeah it's 120hz, whats up koo). I've sort of made it into the game room, you know; epoxied floors, stainless steel cabinets, in wall 2.1 system (MB Quart and JL contractor series), auto faucet/sink (like in a lowes rest room), slat wall, pool table w/ butterfly 7/8" table tennis top.... you know what i;m getting at. Anyways, i've got a lot of new friends now (i was pretty much a loser before) and the place gets dirty right? So i hose it out twice a week (cuz you know i slapped on the waterproof baseboards, casing, etc). Well, two different times i accidentally hosed off my monster powercenter (which pretty much shut down shop). I'm not exaggerating when I say I had everything all plugged back into it the very next day and working fine. TWICE! Most other products - if their good - will sacrifice themselves before letting the line destroy the products. But this monster surge from freaking '99 just takes a hosing like koo in an amazon review. peace nuggzzzz

Digital camera Review: Protection of your system thats all...rest is hype
Summary: 3 Stars

I am surprised when people say that they have noticed significant improvement in picture quality and sound with this. My home Audio Video setup includes a $4000 audiophile grade stereo system and a $2500 42 inch sony LCD projection TV. With all that money and low distortion equipment you can detect the smallest of the change quite easily. I am so sensitive to sound quality that twice my speakers were replaced due to sound distortion that I noticed (distortion that the dealer failed to notice but the manufacturer did). I am a music guy, clean music is what I care about. Believe me HTS - whatever, does not lead to a significant sound improvement. On the other hand it might bring your amp juice down. You know you have to crank up the volume knob a little more than what you would do without it. I played different CDs with and without the so called clean power and I could not observe any significant change. Your experience may differ from mine. My audio components come from NAD who are known for their excellent noise free transformers in their amps players, tuner etc.

Coming to video the HDTV snowflakes are still visible. Specially in the scenes of running water. From my experience all I can tell you is, the flakes are dependent on the transmission quality. In channels like INHD, CINIMAX, HBO you wouldn't get any flakes in the picture while channels like thirteen HD are full of it (specially scenes with running water). So did the clean power make any difference ? Yes it did, given you don't change any color settings of your TV the "clean power" would dull the extra bright bleeding colors..Colors intensity looks more natural..Hey but that's some thing you can do with your color settings right !....
So why monster clean power-----answer is surge protection. That's all. Home insurance doesn't offer surge protection monster does. Not only that. Good music / TV systems are brought with a lot of passion. I have spent close to 6 months deciding my stereo system...another 2 months perfecting it. It would be sad if I loose it to a surge and that's the reason why I chose to keep this HTS what-ever clean power. :o)....and hey don't fall for the gimmick they show you on the monster cable website...My whole system sits next to an Air conditioner....In fact theoretically speaking my entire system shares the same power line as my air conditioner does....I did not notice any change even close to what monster cable guys claim :o) .... Your money your choice ....!
