Digital camera Review: Simple tune up utility.

When you spend $2000 for a television, you may expect it to perform perfectly right out of the box. However, with different high definition displays, it is important to ensure that the picture you see is as accurate as possible. Some manufacturers produce a display that shows well in a retail store showroom but could need adjusting for your home. I used a similar DVD for our Sony Trinitron several years ago and it helped so I figured for my new Sony SXRD display, I should try the updated version of the calibration DVD. The hostess of the video is pretty and informative. Following the instructions, I was able to ensure that our picture is the best it can be. Fortunately, our factory settings were very close to what we needed and using the DVD took about 15 entertaining minutes. The music video at the end was somewhat unnecessary, but it does give you a chance to check your speakers and see how your color, contrast and brightness settings look. If this DVD were available for rental from a local library or video store, that would be perfect due to the somewhat high price. Of course, you spend $2000 on a TV so I think you can spring $25 for a great calibration DVD! Overall I believe this is well worth the money and easy to use.Digital camera Review: TRUE HD on a reg DVD!!

Total waste of money! The whole time they trying to trick u into thinking u using a HDTV calibration disk for HDTV when it really for a SDTV. They also Claim that the whole video was in true HD on a Reg DVD. I guess if u pay 30 dollar then monster cable will Make any DVD turn into trueHD.
Total Rips Off!!! If u planing on buy a calibration disk make sure it on a hdDvd or Blu Ray disk for the trueHD not a reg DVD

If your VCR clock still flashes 12:00 all the time then this calibration disc is for you. Anyone interested in fine tuning their TV to get the best picture should look elsewhere. While this DVD will allow you to improve the picture somewhat, it is far from exact. The humor is bad, the on-screen talent belabors simple points and the calibration patterns are simple and inexact. They use actors shirts and suits.
This DVD allows you to approximate brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness. If you left the settings at their factory defaults when you bought your TV you will see some improvement but won't realize the full potential of your display.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to go through the process to get the same results you could get from a broadcast picture.

I didn't get much out of this DVD. After going completely through the instructions on the video and making the recommended adjustments, I didn't notice any improvement. To give Monster the benefit of the doubt, maybe I had it pretty close when I started. I feel like I wasted my money.
